CPU/Mobo suitable replacement for gigabyte EP31 DS3L

Hello,

I need some help with the following issue:
Recently the bios of my Gigabyte EP31 DS3L got corrupted, so i send it for RMA. They fixed the bios and send it back to me after a loooong time. When i got the mobo, it was completely dead. I called up the digilink people and they said they will give me a replacement board. The replacement board they suggested is G31 mobo. Do u think its fair to get my EP31 by G31 mobo. Can i get some help regarding which mobo will be a suitable replacement for my EP31?

G31 is the bare-bones version of the P31 chipset. What you going to miss out are 8 channel Audio and 2 RAM slots and the G31 is a mini ATX board while the P31 was an ATX board. Rest everything is ditto same. You can try asking for a P41/P43 or a G45 instead.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. Is the G45 mobo still available in the market? Had a very bitter experience with the digilink people. When i first gave the mobo for RMA they said my board was out of warranty and they suggested me to get it repaired by paying them money. The board was bought on jan, 2009. When i checked the serial no., it showed the board was well within warranty. When i told them this they refused to accept it. Later i had a talk with Mr. Rahul Shinde, the RMA manager. After that only did my mobo go for rma. All this took me more than a month time. Hope i get a good mobo and something better than G31.
