Wow. I just came back from work (approx a 2-hr drive) and on Radio Mirchi i heard that the traffic cops are planning to make it illegal to listen to music while driving, cos it's a distraction!! :S

Wtf do we do this then while driving? Watch movies?!

Might as well make it illegal for car-makers to put the damn music systems in the cars then, when else could you possibly use the things??

This is wrong on so many levels :@ :@

right... i guess more accidents are coz by driver pooping out at neha dhupia and mallika's assets on the lighted billboards... pull them down... i mean the billboards...

what did you think..??? ;-)

I don't believe music can cause distraction, off couse when people blast it at full volume then yes its obviously a distraction not just for the driver but others as well.IMO, music calm's the mind, that if if your listening to calming music and not death metal

Extremely loud music does cause distraction but most people hardly turn up the volume while driving 'coz it looks cheap...

Only other genuine distraction contributed to high noise is when my family starts conversing loudly with each other while I am driving...:P especially the older ones telling me... now there is speed breaker, watch out for that car, there is a dog ahead, slow down some more...

Next they should ban conversations inside a car... :P

They should ban cars.. and then motor bikes..then these minister and policemen can live peacefully in all those pothole on the roads and count their bribes..

We have outlaws with music systems in our cars..... hide it under something.... sneak past roadblocks and checks.....

and when no cops are around.....Baannnnng wakao...

Ban on Loud Car music I can understand...

Ban on Music... clearly those fu*kheads don't have any work to do, so they are pretending that they are doing something

Yeh... read about those Saree banning earlier... these guys are really getting outta hands day by day.

Well.. situation is along the lines Justin Bartha(Riley Pool) quoted in National Treasure 2, "Oh look. My tax dollars at work, coming to arrest me." :P

next we'll be wearing helmets and body armour in our cars too..:P
so now that they want the music banned... what do u have in ur central console.??:S

I was listening to the radio again this morning (up yours, copheads!) and heard the funniest bit.

Apparently, the Mumbai Traffic Police is going to continue giving traffic updates to radio stations, and expects drivers to listen to the update, and plan their drive *BEFORE* starting out! WTF! He also said they wont be stopping ppl from having music systems in their cars, cos that's their private matter...they just shouldn't listen to these while driving :ohyeah:

And seriously, random talk with junta inside the car is more of a distraction than the tripe that passes for music on the radio..so I think they really should ban convos inside cars, like racy said...or better yet, ban people :hap2: :cool2:

Another way to distract people from the important issues of sensible traffic safety. How about filling up those potholes so a better ride is ensured and people are not frustrated into committing traffic offences  .
