Update: (although I think most of you who care about this would know..)

The police said they actually think music is soothing (:ohyeah: ) and would only be cracking down on 'loud' music playing from the cars.

'Loud' being defined as if a constable 15 feet away can hear what's playign in your car...weird..

Anyways it's all :hap2: now!

^^ its possible to hear really loud music even from more than 15ft away. just yesterday some weirdo was driving around in his maruti blaring loud himesh reshamiya music. i could hear the song drum beats long time (atleast 10 seconds) before his car passed by.

I actually think they could modify this rule a bit and fine ppl for the TYPe of music they play. Tiered fines too.

So Himesh gets a rs.1000 fine, britney spears gets 800, and so on :D

They are planning to fine the loud music players and possibly people on bikes with earphones. They dont plan to ban the music in the car at all. Wonder what words these RJs use while reporting such things. Should be more accurate.

Na na, they day this was announced there was an interview with some joint commissioner or some such on the radio, and he clearly said (paraphrased :P)

No music. Ppl with music systems in cars, screw you.

After two days of a HUGE ruckus, they backed down slightly and said no loud music, where loud == (sound heard from car > 15 feet away)

Of course, this doesn't mean a huge ruckus for anything will cause changes :-|
