Hello everyone,

two days back i bought new intel mobo, processor and ram:
Intel core 2 duo E4500 @ 2.2GHz
Intel DG33FB motherboard
Transcend 1GB 800mhz ram.

The system works fine but it sometimes hangs on the startup intel bios screen.
Though it happens sometimes but it is annoying as if why it is happening... as it is a new system. My friend told me to put a antistatic bag between the mobo and the cabinet as something might be getting short.
Please guide me on what should i do ??

Thanks and Regards!

^^list out everything you use, it can be due to usb peripherals also, maybe a pendrive or a bluetooth dongle

try disconnecting them before starting

i have this problem on my p35board with bluetooth

Try and see if everything is Seated well in the mobo, loose fitting of Ram might do this sometime.

empty all things from usb ports(printer cable etc)

reset bios to default.

then try.

or else

unplug all hard disks except the booting one ,

remove all expansion cards if any(lan/usb etc)

remove all optical drives

then reboot

Actually this doesnt happen everytime.... it happens occasionally(might be 1 on 7-8 starts). Nothing is connected on the USB connectors, just an usb extension cable and nothing on the extension cable. i have a USB dongle but it is not connected.
I have one CD writer, Pci slot Lan card, 1 seagate HDD all connected with monitor, mic, and speaker connected and i dont have anything else.

Is the antistatic bag required between the mobo and the cabinet??(as something might be getting short).
Is it anything to worry about? As it is a new system i am a little bit worried.

Thanks and regards

its not a very big issue so take your mind off it. and next time it happens try to notice the symptoms or strange behavior it exhibits , that can help the guys here have a better understanding. anyway clear the BIOS once and try :)

^ what exactly can i see? as it hangs on the intel logo screen.

it would be good if u can just suggest what all things to look for...

Thanks and regards
