Need to buy two tablets for around 25k each, can spend up to 30k if necessary or even go down to 20k if not necessary

Only wifi

Mostly for media consumption, light email , light word and video calls, no need for pen maybe keyboard at a later point of time

Some options I have come across Mi pad 6, POCO pad, iPad 9

Mi Pad by itself has rubbish software with HyperOS being even worse than MIUI with hardly any updates for the price. I used mine with custom ROMs from the second day and with that it was bearable.

You can also check xaiomi pad 7, mi pad 6 has sd 870 while pad 7 has sd 7+ gen 3 so the performance would be good. 128gb version is available for 27k.

Check Samsung s9 fe or fe+ (check samsung website, sale going to be in 3 days). Few months back, some got s9 fe+ for 25k only with credit card. Screen is massive. But processing power is lacking.

I settled with ipad 10th gen.

Both have very good reviews!

Edit: added picture.

If you are looking for a long term, consider Apple, Samsung.

That Xiaomi device won't hold good after 2 years given their software. They are trying to compensate it with high refresh rate, good screen(both important) but not at the cost of software.

Xiaomi Pad 6 & Pad 7 have superior hardware to other options under 30k. Samsung has superior software but 6GB RAM & lower performance SoC will make me suggest Xiaomi. I have used a friend's old Samsung 25k tablet from 2020 or so, it kind of lags even though phones around 20k were good even back then. Maybe try to find S9 FE locally & try it out yourself.

Hyper OS is not as good as One UI but it is not a bad OS. It will do the job because of the raw hardware performance. Slow OS updates doesn't matter much as android updates don't add a lot these days anyway.

Was in a similar position, locked in on an used S7+, AMOLED 12.4 being the superior option to whatever the market is offering in buzzword LCDs. I'd get an used S series tab if buying used isn't an issue.
Lenovo Tabs could also be an option.

Surprised no one mentioned Oneplus Pad. The 12gb variant is selling for 22k. I have one and its excellent for media consumption. The screen is great despite being an IPS. For that price its a no brainer.

S9 FE is a decent shoutout too. It has longer software support. I considered one but ultimately went with Oneplus Pad.

I would be cautious with Xiaomi products as they are extremely unreliable with promised os updates. They announced 2 major android updates for Pad 6 but have now gone back on the promise. It wont get Android 15. If you are fine with not getting future promised updates then Pad 7 is a decent option.

I found the lack of biometrics in the cheaper tablets to be more irritating than anything else. That and the fact that I realised that I would prefer having GPS when using a tablet outdoors.

Eventually, if media consumption is the use case, then the IPS panel with its limited contrast and IPS glow feels very limiting. It is probably okay if you need a fast refresh panel for gaming.

There's only IPS options available under 30k tho. Lenovo does have P11 Pro Gen 2 with an oled display but the performance and software on that tab is extremely dodgy. Another option would be to consider Asus' entry level oled laptops around 35k.

I dont know about other tabs but the Oneplus Pad has an excellent IPS screen. A lot of reviews mentioned it and its absolutely true. Its no oled but it punches way above its weight.
