Taking Desktop while travelling in train..

soon will travel from pune to raipur.. now i need to know can i carry my Desktop (config. given below...).. do i need to Book the desktop.. what is d procedure???
 
your desktop can talk?? wow..

jokes aside, you can carry cpu without booking it i guess. It would be a major risk to send it in the luggage van of the train. the monitor on the other hand could be an issue. you could prolly get it shipped by surface transport.
 
sometimes the TC objects sometime they do not while carrying the comp with u in the train
I have carried my CPU & monitor with me twice with me with no problems
There is a procedure in which before board the the train u get a receipt from a TC for the comp

Lol, I dragged my whole damn thing from Mysore to Surat in the 2 tier AC compartment w/o any issues. Well, we were 21 of us. :P

But that CRT monitor could be li'l heavy! :P

back to the topic...shouldnt be an issue , just obtain / inform the TC about the same......else u can disassemble and put the stuff in box's and in a bag...and NOT take the cabinet and then buy an elcheapo cabinet from wherever ur heading....

yes u can carry or desktop in the train provided u pack ur cabby in a nice cardboard box tightly wrangled by thin ropes.

but it would be still better if u pay the necessary charges :)

its good to pay and travel without fear :P
 
Remove your HDD & pack it separately in your bag... cabinet can go in a cardboard box (cabinet box) with everything else connected maybe... Get a carton for your Monitor with thermacol mold to put your monitor & you are done....

In most cases nobody objects..... But if they do then you can explain easily $$... ;)
 
Just be a little careful as the security may have been beefed up after mumbai incident. In that case the police may ask you to open and show the goods
