We are from the India Broadband Forum (http://broadbandforum.in) and you are getting this mail because you are part of the community which perhaps faces similar problems like we do.

The CNN-IBN Show "All about the money" was shown last night.

VSNL/ TATA-Indicom got their first real beating in mass media. The coverage was India-wide!

Now, there is something really IMPORTANT that you have to do:

For your issues/ complaints on VSNL/ TATA-indicom please enter details on CNN-IBN's following page, pertaining to the show:

Please also copy eMail 4: editor@ibnlive.com on your eMail to "Consumer VOICE" magazine (http://www.consumer-voice.org/contact.asp), India's leading magazine that supports consumer issues.

Believe me, this will really help take the case further and improve things for you.

Please help make the media understand that they need to continue to support us consumers.

Don't forget:

This was just "Part I" of the show. The bigger part is yet to come on 13.10.2007 at 18:30 hrs. (6:30 PM). Please watch that one, too. "Part II" will give VSNL/ TATA-Indicom another blow, just as the story continues to unfold in newspaper coverage until then!

This took long enough to happen, but has to happen to get the broadband scene in India moving.

omg. i was reading a post on that site about some guy talking to CNN about Tata Indicom but i dismissed it as something the channel would just throw away right after. good to see that they actually put it up on air.

however, i really doubt this would have any major impact on the broadband scene either :P maybe tata's service would improve for a little bit but i'm not too optimistic apart from that.

gr8 work. I am a member of that forum too.

And I thought Sify would get the thrashing first. Tata Indicom seems godly compared to Sify. Nice that things are being publicised. Hopefully we will get better service from other ISPs too.

Btw, how do you complain to TRAI? Have issues with a few of telephone and internet companies.

Raghu.

I'd love to see them comparing our net connection speeds and prices with those of other countries - even developing countries will do, forget US/UK/EU region! They should also focus on how much $$$ ISP's need to shell out for X amount of bandwidth and how much that should translate into for the end user and how much they really charge. Why are the prices going up even after bulk bandwidth prices have dropped? Also why are almost all the ISPs giving just 50 -70% the advertised speeds in so many areas and getting away with it? Meh, somehow I don't think any of this will be talked about although I really hope they do.

I'd really love to see these ISPs getting HUGEEEE fines - ALL the $$$$ they've made by cheating customers should be drained out :ohyeah: :ohyeah: :ohyeah:

Oh and why TATA? Aren't they one of the better ISPs? :P

oops missed the first part:(

can anyone provide link where it can be downloaded?

poor me, i am with some strict DATA Caps:(:(

i agree with you man. during my days of sify there were times when noone would answer their CC number for days on end. Anyway, its good to see that CNN IBN is doing this, now lets hope TRAI, or atleast the ISPs to save face start giving better service.

guys watch out........u might just see me @ CNN IBN
viewsonic has been taking me for a ride, i am trying to get my monitor RMAd and they have been avoiding me for 30 days now, can any1 plz help me get the monitor RMAd..........does any1 have any contacts in viewsonic

hi,

guys its time that the TRAI fire at fraud isps like sify and one small fraud isp in mumbai by the name of igate....see these frauds take things for granted and they cheat customers to the limits...i am glad that i left that fraud isp igate run by a fraud man bhushan thakkar and i am gladi left sify another fraud too....

i hope whatever comes out of the tata-vsnl case changes the broadband scene around and make it difficult for these isps to cheat customers..
