is Airtel stopping their unlimited packages but the beginning of next year?

Please don't say that. I am living in hope of the fact that Airtel will come here in Jan and I will be set free from the tyranny of Sify...
 
Dont worry... It will be there... Or should i say it better be there cause damm Airtel guys are digging holes in ront of my house for wires these days...
 
Is anyone using Tata? Hows the connection? Is it ADSL or cable? If its cable, does p2p and torrent work? What about downtime?

I might switch from triband to tata if its good. Though I'm quite happy with triband.

at 200 bucks, its a steal, i have to agree mtnl rules :)

hope there are no strings attached :(

edit - my gut feeling was right, switch's string was all in white, nice :cheers:

vince, as for tata indicom rates, if this is after waking up, its better they sleep :)

128 kbps 900 rs
256 kbps 1,600

MTNL does'nt rule it says that after November it will have a 400 MB Limit for Rs. 200 per month.

finally tata has come to the real world!! but prices still on the higher side. if they want to give airtel a run for its money , they shud bring down the rates to at least 800 for a 256k unlimited plan.

I'm using Tata 64kbps... but i get 88kbps... before the rate cut, i was paying Rs.800+10.2%taxes, now its down to Rs.500+taxes... BTW this includes the modem rent...

The connection is ADSL, and so far i've had absolutely no problems with downloading anything via torrents, p2p (limewire, emule, shareaza, soulseek,etc.) , etc..
As regards Airtel, they took out an ad in the Hindu a few days back, i think the limit is 4 or 5 gb per month from next year... someone please confirm this (i 've lost the clipping)
 
hey why whould anyone go for TATA indiacom they are charging double the cost of Airtel and Hathway.

And is it true that airtel is stopping their unlimited plans???

Naah, that's just an promotional 500/- pm offer where they are giving 5 GB d/l's instead of the usual 1 GB for an limied d/l plan

The unltd plan is at 900/- + 99/- as usual
