Tatkal booking/irctc is a pain!

Agents occupying queue positions is not area specific, it is universal, we also face the same problems, Moreover I feel that Agent and the ticket booking clerk has some mutual understandings, Agent charges 200-500 extra per ticket
 
Can we make tatkal reservations at any railway station? Even the small ones. If yes the minor stations will be less crowded right and will be better than going to the main stations.
 
Yes. It can be done and if you know someone in distant place, you are very lucky....

Yes. If the station has internet. Some stations do not have & they give that fixed tickets for that station..

^auto fill or quick fill is not a real problem in irctc.. actually if you type even very slowly by searching the letter in the keyboard, you will still get enough time as the CAPTCHA requires considerable amount of time to load

This happened to me on Saturday.
waited for the CAPTCHA to load and literally after waiting for 10-15 min i submitted the form without submitting the CAPTCHA.
And the page shows "Session expired"....
And the rest can be speculated.....yeah i couldn't book the ticket.:mad:
So my cousin suggested me to open multiple accounts and use multiple browsers for each account.
And was lucky enough to book a ticket today.
 
^^ this is real painful...I tried many times today , even I asked my friend....I reached to payments page...entered everything..amount was deducted but alas got server error.

Dont worry. Amt will be refunded within a day or two. Just check whether any tickets are shown in the booked history with the amt.
