These two sections have been taken up by the current mods

  1. linuxtechie - Chief of Codeville - Applications, Operating Systems, Open Source and Linux, Programming
  2. thetoxicmind - Com-Motion Sensor - Laptops, Mobile Phones

Community Representative

  1. We will shortlist the nominees but the final decision will be taken by public voting
  2. Will be allocated a budget of at least 15K every 6 months to spend on TE
  3. Will conceptualize and execute the contests on TE from either the above budget or from additional resources as committed by the outside parties like manufacturers and distributors.
  4. Will nominate members for the MoTM position every month and current staff will finalize the winner. The MoTM will get a prize and a prominent listing. We are yet to finalize the details.
  5. Will nominate articles for the AoTM every month and current staff will finalize the winner. The AoTM will get a prize. We are yet to finalize the details.

We are looking for 11 moderators and a Community Representative for the following positions. Please send in your nominations via PM to me and tell us the following.

  10. Dealer's Paradise, Hot Deals
  11. Distributed Computing, Graphics and Eyecandy, Show-off
  12. Community Representative (more on this later)

Your job as a moderator is pretty simple after you have read all the TE rules.

  1. Edit rude posts
  2. Delete useless posts
  3. Remove SMS lingo posts
  4. Let us know when you can no longer moderate

We will review the moderation needs every 6 months and appoint new moderators if needed.

Any Specific requirements for the same? For eg. Moderation experience, age in forum etc.?

Nope. We will teach you everything and guide you from time to time. :)

But of course we will take into account your past record on the forum while making the decision.

Not really. Unless collecting infraction points is a hobby.

I'm guessing 5 and 7 is probably because position 5 will also involve assisting moderation in position 7.

I nominate Gannu for Gaming and Gaming Consoles section. None other deserves it more than him for that section in particular.

No you cannot. If this were for a prize then sure yes but for a mod position only that person knows the amount of time he will have on his hands.

Knowing him, I am sure he will nominate himself so don't worry.

The usual, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

I think Renu had also mentioned a 2 week paid break once every 6 months.

Nice Move...

I think the new Mods should be put up on a probation period of sorts to check their performance.

Those who don't do well in the probation can be replaced...
