4gb ddr3 for < Rs 1000 soon ?

DRAM pricing to plunge in rest of 2011, says IHS

The ASP for DDR3 in the 2Gb density - the bellwether DRAM product - is projected to drop to US$1.60 in the third quarter, down 24% from US$2.10 in the second quarter. The dive would be the biggest decline for the year, following a surprisingly solid second quarter during which pricing fell only 5% from the first quarter, IHS said. Moving into the fourth quarter, the price could plummet another 22% to US$1.25 - dangerously close to cash costs for many manufacturers. Only a year ago in the third quarter, pricing stood at US$4.70, IHS observed.

Forget the Bijli. I don't think you can find it for 1100 anymore. Add a little more and get the CM Elite.

For a HT, is it a good idea to go for a 40 inch LCD? I use my rig for surfing/downloading/watching movies. I'm wondering if surfing the web with a 40 inches monitor is good for the eyes.

Celeron G540 and Celeron G440 Processors Review

X-bit labs - Print version

Of course, if we look at the specifications, we will see that the new Celeron CPUs have lower clock frequencies and smaller L3 cache compared to Pentium. But the results of our tests show that it has very little effect on actual performance. There is no huge gap between LGA1155 Celeron and Pentium processors like the one we previously saw between Core i3 and Pentium CPUs. In other words, these two processor families are really close.

While its power consumption is at comparable level with the rivals’, it offers slightly better computational performance and radically better graphics, which is also capable of hardware HD video decoding. As a result, Celeron G440 based platforms can successfully compete with AMD Brazos in many aspects, including price. And even though E-350 processors appeal to users with their more advanced graphics, Celeron G440 CPUs boast higher average performance in regular applications and flexibility for future upgrades.

If you would have bought the same pc from SMC you would have paid 1/1.5k more

A4-3400 2.7 GHz, 1M, FM1 3750

A6-3500 2.1 GHz, 4M, FM1 4775

Hi Darkangel
You recommended 6850's for xfire rig will it show the microshuttering?

I read that cards below 6950 suffer from this issue when xfired.

Honestly I hadnt even heard of the term couple of months back and then couple of articles popped up. One recently in Tech report and that too was not very conclusive in the end. The jist is that even with microstuttering if the FPS doenst go below 60FPS during troughs one wouldn't notice it. So this adds another -ve to the multi-GPU setups. May be since the HD6850 XFire dips below 60FPS while micro stuttering in the highest settings for the most taxing games it might be visible in it.

Though will keep this in mind while writing the next guide and read up a little more.

Celeron G530($42) is ideally suited for our market and should be priced @~2.1k-2.2k in India if it follows the pricing trend.

But sadly Intel doesn't release many of these low end celerons in Indian market which is ideally for such cheap processors :(

A quick question, would any one know if the Inter Gseries SB processors have launched in Chennai? Any idea about the pricing? can't find it in delta/challenger..

Also, would the G620 be a better bet than the X2 260 for a office system?

Hi Frndz,

I am in very confused state for the mobos -

I. MSI Z68A-GD55(B3) II. ASUS P8Z68-V PRO III. GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 IV. Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3

I suppose GIGABYTE would be best choice for me considering that it has the lowest price among the pack and it supports XFireX, has OC Button. I would be using two GPUs max and hence the limitation of 3rd PCI slot doesn't bother me much. But still need Expert Opinion. My budget is around 60K below is my config -

Processor INTEL i5 2500K 10500

Motherboard Around 11K

RAM Corsair 1X4GB Vengence 1600

Graphics Card MSI HD R6950 Twin Frozr III 15000

HDD Seagate 7200.12 1TB 2800

Monitor Benq G2222HDL 6900

Cabinet CM Elite 431 Plus 2600

PSU Corsair GS600 3800

DVD SONY 22X 900

KB+Mouse Logitech MK260 1200

TOTAL 45300 (excluding mobo)
