But now, since there are some Indian Server for TF2, and I'm pinging low to them, I'm thinking of giving this game a shot.

One query: "Play as much as you want, as long as you like!". Is the game Free to Play forever? I mean, I don't want that this free to play cease to exist after a week or so and I end up wasting bandwidth. I'm getting it then.

Also, someone please post IP of servers you guys mostly play on. Let me check how much I ping to them.

Damn! Pinging ~300ms to most of the servers. Which server you guys 'exactly' play at? Give me IP of that. BTW, I'm pinging ~70ms to this Indian server: FraG.BoX | eVoXTRM.com Community Server [tf2] Team Fortress 2. So, if we TEians hang out there then it will be great.

Also, there is a huge bloatware called "Source" which we've to download, isnt? I've Portal 2, will copying common source files works? Which files I've to copy exactly and where?

Aww damn, I went to Starhub, was getting an excellent 89 ping at Pl_Banrblitz (new PL map, epic destruction and chaos). Kicked serious butt, 15pts ahead of any other attack class haha!

No, You don't have to download it. I guess so, I never downloaded it. I think you need it only if you want to host a server.

No, You don't have to download it. I guess so, I never downloaded it. I think you need it only if you want to host a server.

Nope, from what I heard, its compulsory to download/have the Source engine of 3.5GB. :| So, is it possible that I copy-paste engine files of the other sourced base game to my TF2 download folder, and save my bandwidth and time?

^^ Dunno, cuz Portal 2 is using a different version, not the common Source engine version for HL2, and TF2 and CS:S.

I'm getting ~280ms for all starhub servers. I was getting around 150 before, when eClan servers were listed in server list.

And if the SERVER ADMIN of the Indian Server is not present, I have a proposition.

I can HOST A SERVER from 8-10PM for all of us to play. Server based at New Delhi, 24 player cap. Goldrush, Dustbowl, Banrblitz, Badwater rotation only.

What say?
