don't lose heart... you can work your magic with photographs and I will enter the contest using them :ohyeah: if only wishes were horses

Maybe I could be allowed to enter and I could give away the prize if I win :P

OK, you are allowed to enter the contest but you won't be eligible for any prizes. :bleh:

However, if your entry turns out to be better than the actual prize winners, you'll get a mention. :hap2:

Two questions:

1) So when can others see entries made by all?

2) Can game demos played by other people be used for the GD for the SShots?

Answers please :) thanks

is the designers domain necessarily (photograph+photoshop) only?
in designer domain not just photochopped photographs but more designer stuff should be allowed, such as maya/3ds max rendered images, or composites. even animations (including flash)

We had a discussion on this among the staff, and we decided to leave it at 'photograph + photoshop' to keep it at a level playing field.

CGI and Flash could make things a bit hard to judge, plus the fact is anyone who knows CGI/Flash ought to be very handy with Photoshop tools as well.

Looking at the photos in the Photography thread, I figure this should be a walk in the park for you guys ;)

thnx for you response,

but i guess keeping it that way, will keep it confined to/advantageous to a particular group of participants.

A more generic topic will be appreciated. :)

If you worried about judging across varied software packages,

you could have the contest focused on a particular topic.

(eg. a banner for global warming awareness. This is just an example, could be anything TE related or whatever)

In this way, one's entry can be judged on creativity, software skill and closeness to the topic.

Either ways I will try. Atleast hope its not particularly photoshop,

I may use GIMP/CorelDRAW.

Thats a good idea, perhaps the next contest! :cool2:

No restriction on what tool you use, though I believe a brief list of the steps you used is expected.

------------

Another reminder to all - new and unique entries are expected. Please avoid copy/pasting or simlpy transferring your existing articles (even if they exist on other sites).

And something to stimulate those not hopeful of winning : trust me, the MSI Wind is still within your reach, one brilliant article/design/etc is all it takes ;)

Quick question - is the 31st of March included as a valid date of submission or does the deadline expire @ 11:59:59PM on the 30th of March?

Hello, on popular demand we have decided to increase the contest deadline by 15 days.

We were getting a lot of pm's to extend the same as the contest period clashed with exams for many. In the light of that, we believe a 15 day extension is justified.

The contest will now close on the 15th of April, 2009.
