Mega fan of the Threadripper platform here. Initial gens had some teething problems but since Zen 2 (I have a 3970X build) it's been excellent for those middle-ground consumer HEDT enthusiasts.

I'm worried about the pricing though
eager to replace my 3970X with a 9970X or even 9980X but current motherboards in the market are pro-level need ECC RDIMMs - I'm waiting/hoping for new motherboard launches that will support regular non-ECC DDR5 UDIMMs.
