I want to know is the DVD dual layer media available in USA. Coz my friend is gonna come from US nxt week.

I saw a dual layer disk at Lamington Road a couple of days back - very cheap - only 450/- ....... EACH........ :)

Ah. Well, that's an improvement. When I enquired sometime earlier this year, it cost 600 each.
 
Was verbatim cdr / dvdr also available where u saw this verbatim DVD DL? I am trying hard to find verbatim media but cannot find a source. Earlier, one Mr Rao was dealing in Mumbai, but he is no longer contactable.

yup the DVD DL were Verbatims there were 9 pieces which he sold off yesterday - I just now checked with him on the phone - he says he may get more supply of these disks next week. There are no SL or CDRs of Verbatims available with my supplier.

dude , gosh why do u feel its cheap as 4 gb ones available for 16 -17 bucks max 8 gb ones sud be available for 80 rupees as u get street side pirated hollywood movies on 8 gb i.e, dual layer dvds 4 arund 250 bucks and they do evn earn a handsome margin also

I agree with what you say totally - actually I was J/K with the comment of it being "cheap". It is downright robbery at this price. :S

Is the 16/17 bucks 4.7GB media any good ? What speed ?

i aint no optic specialists around but then i know how to get the best deals ;)
the medias are of typically two brands aztec and other is jet , correct me if i am not mistaken and its available box packed in a pack of 27 dvds retailing around 450 rupees or 425 depends , and on the box its mentioned manufactured by moser baer , only dvd i have used is a princo 1 in multisession mode and found it satisfactory eno

I bought a lot of Edgetec disks (made by Moser Baer) 3 days back for 21/- each in 10 disk spindles. I bought them as they were meant to be 8x disks - all tests show them to be 8x but I get all burns at 4x !! :@ I have some Moser Baer 8x -R and +R disks and these burn at 8x everytime. I think it is a Burner not matching the media problem - anyway I asked the supplier and he agreed to change these Edgetec disks for MB -R disks with a price difference of 6/- per disk.

I would be extremely happy to pay what Eazy did coz' here in Chennai, it costs 39 per + or - disc. Man, why such a big diff. ?
 
I had read Frontech had some good dye on it. don't remember what dye it was. But someone had also pointed that they were fake. Has anybody experienced with Frontech? Also how about Benq media, CD as well as DVD?
Basically I am looking for media with good longetivity.
 
Moser Bear has its facotry here in Noida... If somebody is looking for big pack i can get it for you cheap from here...
 
When I last (9-10 days back) got 6 10x spindles of MBI 8X +R, they were for 310 bucks each. Individual spindles were 360 bucks. These are hyd prices btw.
