The Enshittification of Swiggy

Sharing my recent experience with swiggy.

Ordered food.. delivery rider comes with the food spilled in his bucket.. i tell him to cancel it.. he says he will do it.

Goes away and after 15 mins marks it as delivered.

Swiggy support is a joke.. first you have to deal with useless AI bots.. then somehow i get through to there call center and im put in a waiting queue. No one picks up for 15 mins.

I give up and write an email to swiggy.. they say they will investigate and after 2 days write me stating they have confirmation the food was delivered and they wont refund me.

Safe to say im never using this shitty app again.

Always chat with them not connect on a call.

Does the rider cancelling it make any difference? I thought their job was to just bring the food. After delivery if its spilled then you gotta raise the complaint.

the ****ing AI bot doesnt let you do that at all.. this time i didnt even get the option for a chat.
Can confirm their AI bot is absolute dogsh*t.
I spent 2 and a half hours over an order because of multiple issues at every stop. 1st delivery rider went missing, 2nd one had his bike's tyre punctured and was taking forever to delivery even after I called him, he kept making excuses like he's getting it fixed etc but didn't move for 30-40mins so I chatted with the horrible bot again and somehow managed to get a human on chat then they cancelled and remade the order for me. I had multiple screenshots saved but I got so exhausted I didn't post them here.
 
One workaround I used to get a real CC person was choose the "Safety Issue" (Delivery Agent issue) category - I forgot the actual name but something like that - immediately got a real person to chat with, then complained about my issue, which I forgot what it was but would have gotten automated AI for sure.

But I don't recommend doing it these days , who knows they might mark your account or penalise with negative rating or deduct their internal rating or something like that.
 
Say, if you request a refund from a bot due to a wrong food order/contaminated food.

Yesterday i was able to claim full refund from chatbot for 2-3 drops of spilt coffee :hilarious::hilarious:
I feel a lot of UI and menu are tailored for Gen Z way of app navigation

Hence Swiggy is implying that all of you lot have reached Unc status

why didn't you take photos of food and get it on recording? honestly, without proof you can do squat.

that being said, folks why do you order from Swiggy? I'm not being sarcastic, I really dont get it, for fast food, Burger King/Dominoes have their own delivery which is where I mostly order from, kirana stalls have my street food needs filled, and for any upscale/different cuisine order, delivery always ****s it up, even a Naan, when I'm getting it myself, if I am late by even 2 minutes its basically rubber, my point being, delivery always spoils food in my experience.

So whats the point of ordering? my perspective is mainly from Bangalore/NCR view, in my T3 home town, delivery prices are way to atrocious so we anyways get the food on our own.
 
Does anyone have problem with swiggy delivery lately it very slow plus if u don't tip you it would take a long time to get delivery partners, zomato also have gone too shit but compared to swiggy it way better even for late orders they gave me a coupon but it kinds only useful for restaurants that don't give discount.

this will eventually happen for all platforms, just like in US, gig workers will obviously prioritize tipped orders over non-tipped. like I said before, its not a sustainable business, best for everyone would be to just pretend these apps dont exist. Would save your money as well your health
