Folks who have that generic rudimentary entry level inverter should consider upgrading to this pure since wave one. It is such an improvement. Now I don't get to know when power-cut happens. The fans that run on this don't have that irritating turr turr sound!

For at least the last decade, pure sine wave inverters start from around ₹5k, there's really no reason to get something else. My first inverter was a su-kam Falcon 650 for around ₹6.5k in 2008-ish.

Got the Swans M10!

Initially they sounded very meh, similar to the Logitech USB speakers they replaced and I immediately thought if either the speakers were bad or I need a better DAC. Just 10 mins later, sounds have improved; 90 mins later theyre still improving! Will add a half decent DAC this weekend yay!

Congratulations mate on the M10! They were going at a nice price in the recent Prime Deal Sale. I'm sure with a good DAC and more burn in they will sound even better with time. I do have my old Swans D1010MKII and they sound really nice, very musical. I recently however wanted to try some Edifier speakers and so:

Got the R1700BT:

And the S1000DB:

They both sound lovely but the 1000DB's are really good. Heavy as they come (each speaker about 10kg's), these bad boys do get loud but even on lower volumes (which is largely how I prefer my music) they hold their ground unexpectedly well. I have them hooked to an Asus Xonar DX (TOSLINK - 50 Feet) and run JRiver MC.

P.S. I also have one question for you regarding your CM690 Resurrection Mod - Those front 120mm white Thermalright fans, how exactly have you mounted them? I don't spot any screws or zip-ties thus I'm intrigued.

So someone else was also wondering this on another thread, going higher up in the edifier price range is not just more loudness and power but also more quality? Is there a model or price point in edifier where SQ peaks or plateaus?

My requirement is specifically, extreme quality at very low volume. Not just music though, also for movies where dialog needs to be very clear at low volume.

I've heard Mackies are great at that. MR Series.

Something like these?

Yep these.

Well I guess I was living under a rock this whole time. Had no clue sine wave invertors are so superior.

Hehe these are 140mm fans and they're rectangular (or oval?) just like the Noctua NF-A15s. The longer dimension is same as the slot for 5.25inch drive bay and its a perfect fit. Even though its a tight intereference fit, I have added small dabs of hot glue to keep them in place. I was going to make an elaborate plate to make it look pretty but they'll be going away to make way for a 360mm radiator.

As for the Swans, Finally managed to chop off and solder an RCA Cable to the Alien DAC. Its now working with the swans and in all honestly sounds better than the MX5021.

I'm now wondering if I should replace the MX5021s with these swans and then break out the ProAc Tablettes here? lets see

I have the mr624 for computer listening. They are fabulous for that purpose. Just gotta make sure of two things. Get a good preamp or volume control to connect them to and a good source.
Would an x-fi 5.1 be enough or is it inadequate?

The MR's are a bit pricey, since the price on Amazon is for one unit only, i wouldn't actually mind spending if it's that good, but also a little concerned about longevity of the investment given that it's active powered.

5.1s specially entry level ones are no match to a good monitor. Hmm I had no clue active speakers have less lifespan?!

If I may ask, how have you connected them to your PC?

I have heard good things about Mackie speakers, perhaps will buy a pair and try them out soon.

Currently enjoying my Edifier S1000DB and Dali Zensor 3 setups for music. :)
