This is a really good idea, but it's likely most people would end up confused just like I did. A far better approach would've been to just get the three different switches (brown, red, blue) by Huano (they're Rs 12 each) to accurately feel the difference of the main switch types. And then from there expand into a few different variations (brands, actuation force) of the kind you prefer. There's just no reason for this much variety (some of them are the same switch in a different body) unless if you're an experienced switch connoisseur like @SunnyBoi

Thanks! I've ordered a sample of all three from stackskb.

Once I have a switch figured out, I'll decide on a keyboard. I've been typing conscientiously the last few weeks and I realized the last time I used right control was probably for Road Rash back in the 90s. So a more compact tenkeyless design with a seperate arrow key cluster would be ideal. I like the GMMK Pro but I have no use of the function keys, so maybe something like the Gamakay LK67.

Do you know of any other diy keyboards like the Gamakay?

Yes, but for subjective differences, human prejudice comes into picture and distort our observation of reality. Also, we like something we are used to, irrespective of whether it is objectively good - e.g. QWERTY keyboards. Take your own example of liking clicky switches after using blues for a while. Now whether it is worth forcing ourselves to "like" something that is objectively better in spite of us being already comfortable with something else ? That is yet another debate.

At the very least, the switches need to be tested in a double blind test. Somewhat vaguely like Linus Tech Tips did once, even if they dramatize everything for entertainment, their approach was right in this case. They were surprised by their own selections in the blind test - I think theirs wasn't double blind.

If you don't need the rotary encoder, Stacks has an Ikki Aurora GB going on right now which will end soon I think. It's priced well and way better compared to GMMK Pro (is this around 15k? Don't remember). They also have some kbdfans kits, dunno what's in stock currently.

But I'll also suggest taking your time and looking into different kinds of boards instead of just grabbing one, if you're the kind who'll want something different when you learn there are better boards with better mounting styles that give better typing feel. Or even more compact layouts.

Yeah I too have a few samples I have no use for, will let them go at some point.
Oh also try TTC switches (not sure if stacks has ttc clicky), I haven't yet but i think SunnyBoi has and from what I've seen they are underrated.

They arrived today, that was super quick! The Jade is pretty awesome, and the TTC Golden Blue is very close. I find myself preferring the lighter touch of the White though.

Hey, thanks. Yeah this looks like it's going to be a longterm build, so I'll be doing a lot more research before deciding on a board.
 
where can i get outemu whites ? stuck with a cosmic byte keyboard with outemu browns , need silent linears also open for cs akkos

another option that i was thinking is going for this one and requesting them whether they can replace the switches with outemu whites this seems to be usd 20 and allowed to buy maximum two keyboards as samples

I'm as big fan of Royal Kludge keyboards, I have a RK68 myself. The wireless capability plus the hotswap deals the deal for me.

Awesome! The jades feel awesome but they're too loud for my PC. Perfect for my parents PC where they need as much audible feedback as possible for their typing!

I have a batch of 100 box white switches and use them time to time because theyre sooo goood

Local furniture shop. ordered it with an reference to IKEA drawer but asked him to keep the drawers normal as I have dust issue at my place. its a bit big then the one in the reference from IKEA. used Waterproof sheet for order so the price went to Rs. 7500. normal one was for Rs.5500. and Delivery charges are Rs. 300 extra. plus this is non GST prices :banghead:
