The "Everyday" show-off thread !

Finally bought a S22 Ultra, after watching reviews for 4 months. 12 GB + 256 GB model.
6 month old used one with 6 months warranty remaining. Got for price of 68k. Also got 37k on exchange of my Iphone 12 128GB (no warranty, Battery 90%). Local shop.
Glad to be done with iOS. :tearsofjoy:

Would like to know why you switched to iOS and then came back after more than a year (??)
Sure. I was an android user for around 8 years. The oneplus 7 (3 yr old) i had before had started to lag, the battery life was bad and the camera was also bad. I had started to shoot a little bit of video for my youtube, so i wanted a phone with good battery and camera.
At the same time, I wanted to try iOS. I had never owned an apple product. After seeing all these youtubers praising apple, I bought an iphone 12. I did not research iOS too much, that was a bit of a mistake from my side.

Things that made me move back :
  1. It's very troublesome with no file manager and hard to move files to pc. I bought the phone to shoot videos for youtube, then was struggling to move files to pc. My phone had disconnected multiple times when i was transferring 10 gb or more at once. :tearsofjoy:. Finally had to use softwares like 3utools and Intel unison. (3utools is a must have software for iphone users).
  2. The keyboard and typing experience is absolute trash. Putting Gboard makes it little better but still shit.
  3. Can't install an adblock in your browser. (I was using ublock origin extension on firefox on android for years).
  4. Can not simply turn off GPS with one button, need to go to settings.
  5. iphone will automatically turn on wifi and bluetooth after some time.
  6. free icloud storage is only 5 gb, that will be over in 2 weeks, then daily reminders to upgrade icloud.
  7. Couldn't use tachiyomi (manga app) and cracked spotify that i had on android. Now i am a paid spotify user on android. :tearsofjoy:
  8. Apple only allows whatsapp backup to icloud, so had to take an icloud subscription.
  9. When you type passwords, the phone will automatically replace the keyboard of your choice with apple keyboard. Even if apple keyboard is disabled. Brah.
  10. Lightning port. come on its 2023, upgrade to type C, Apple.
  11. Customization. Launchers, icon packs, etc. No double tap on screen to sleep and wake up.
Finally I had enough and returned back home to android, like nRiteCh said.

few things that iphone does better: Looks amazing, feels amazing in the hand. Battery life is just on another level. Whole OS is very snappy, camera is just point and shoot. you are 95% guranteed to get a good photo. My samsung does have some shutter lag.

I didn't know local shops dealt in used phones

On top of that offering an exchange service with acceptable change value?

where does one find this shop

I don't really use olx. I suppose i should enquire in some shops. This is a new one for me.

I am biased towards buying from shops than online. The experience is immediate, if they have what you want
To be honest i had found a good deal from Olx for my 13 Pro

It was an individual seller
Bought it the week 14 Pro was released in India

13 Pro 256 GB with 20W adapter 92% battery health for 72k

Was it an online deal or as you said from a shop advertising on olx and then you went to the shop to close the deal ?

It wasn't an online deal

So when you deal with olx "postings" you'd prefer F2F meetup to check device/product

So i contacted the individual seller asking him to arrange a meet
Then checked the device and bought it then and there

Bro, I am from Kochi, Kerala. Here we have a big shopping complex called Penta Menaka. Its 4 floors of completely mobile related shops (phones, accessories, repairs). You can get used and new phones there at good rates. I have seen many ppl come from other districts in kerala and purchase from here. It's the biggest setup in Kerala.
In Bangalore, I have seen a similar thing. The place was called Mahaveer Plaza, near Majestic. An Auto driver took me to that place when i said i wanted to buy used phones. Me and 2 of my friends had gone there last year and bought a S21 Ultra for 46k. (no warranty, but no scratches etc). The phone is fine till now, no issues. If you know the locals there and can bargain, you can get good deals.

Very good, did the S21U come with a receipt and original box? just so you don't buy some stolen stuff
