Thanks !That's a crazy jump! Congratulations.
Downside is the NVMe runs HOT ! Idle temps are around 49 degrees, and temps on workload hit 60 degrees plus easily.

Is this a downside of nvme or just happening in your chassis? Try giving it some air/collog something..Thanks !

Nah.. those temps are normal..Is this a downside of nvme or just happening in your chassis? Try giving it some air/collog something..
Downside of NVMe. There are cooling solutions available though. The critical temp listed for this is 85.Is this a downside of nvme or just happening in your chassis? Try giving it some air/collog something..
Hmm ok. I would have just done some modding to put a fan on it.Downside of NVMe. There are cooling solutions available though. The critical temp listed for this is 85.
In a laptop. Fan is sadly not possible. All NVMe drives run hot, they do decrease speeds when temps get very high. I don't think I will have that sorta workload often - except photo editing.Hmm ok. I would have just done some modding to put a fan on it.

My 860 Evo SATA which is a backup drive feels ancient in comparison:
Congrats bro !I'm making the exact same jump. Just got my 1TB 970 Evo Plus m.2 nvme today! In all likelihood will move stuff of my 860EVO 500GB and sell it off.
That Amazon deal on the 970Evo Plus was just killer
I've heard NAND actually lasts longer when it's run hotter. But heat can affect the controller. Thanks !

Buy new when this goes kaput heheGot the Cosmic Byte CB-GK-13 Neon Rainbow Backlit Mechanical Keyboard with Brown Outemu Switch (Black) - it's an OK entry-level mech keyboard. Will get something more decent next year once I have more money
