They should seriously start marketing these with adjustable clips to get the amps to piggyback on the pmp's. This way it looks way too much hassle to use while travelling. What earbuds do you have? And damages?
 
I really wouldn't want any of my music players to sound like an iPod :P

^I agree. My nokia + creative zvm both sound better than my ipod.

though at $17.5 it aint a bad buy for cheaper players.

how much does the portable x-fi thing cost?

Dude the DAC on the 5800 is a POS. Don't even compare it to the DAC on the iPod, particularly the Classic 5G that had a Wolfson DAC.

I've heard the 5800 - its sound quality is sh1t, nothing more.

Besides loud isn't really better, maybe you should buy a beta 22 amp and try that...
 
yup, the ipod 5th gen SQ is far better than any cellphone..

AFAIK Mass market Cellphones haven't reached the point where they can replace a dedicated high end DAP.
