Been a long wait for this one. My second biggest this year infact, besides Inception.

What we know so far
- gf106 40nm
- 192 cuda cores (48 core clusters x 4)
- 783/1566/900 core/shader/memory
- 128 bit bus
- 1GB DDR5
- ~106W TDP (so a single 6pin connector)
- Official release is on the 13th

What is unexpected, is the price point, which seems to be a bit lower than expected. According to Hexus
The press release gave the ASUS card a MSRP or $150 or €150. This works out to around £115 (including VAT)

Palit seems to have already made a low profile version of the card which is priced at an even lower 136$ price point, its missing SLI though.

Besides the price cuts on the HD5770, the other thing I'll enjoy is watching all those selling overpriced GTX260s and 5770s get really owned now.

If Zotac manages to bring in the cards soon enough, I'll be getting a couple of these.

its too little too late.

Nvidia have learned a lesson (I hope they did ) from this generation.

They should have started off with GF104 and GF106 in the beginning. This price puts it in firing line of many 5770s which itself is about to be replaced in a month's time.

Anandtech review is out.

NVIDIA

Disappointing performance, does not beat the GTX260 or the HD5770. ATI replied with a 130$ HD5770, should be selling for less than 7,500 in a couple of weeks.

Seriously, the 100 to 150USD is a wasted space atm, 5770 is a 1 year old tech matching performance of a 3 year old mainstream card... Thankfully the GTX 460 768mb are going for as low as 170 USD to fill in the gap.

^Not to mention if the 460 768MB gets the speculated price revision of 150 USD from the 180 USD price tag, that'd make the 460 the best VFM card for mid-segments. :D

Initial leaks shows HD6870 beat the GTX480 in testellation(The HD5870 was not even able to socre 60-65% of the GTX480 scores) Gaming performance also seems way ahead. Seems AMD will once again have the fastest single graphics card in couple of months.

The price of HD5750 has fallen to $120 and Sapphire HD5770 costs $140. The GTS 450 at $130 doesnt beat the HD5770. Even the OCed ones are unable to beat the HD5770. So HD5770 still is a better buy.

But the GTX460 768MB at $170 is sweet :) GTX460 attacked the $200 price point where AMD/ATI had a weak and unsuccessful HD5830. But AMD seems to be just gearing up for HD6xxx launch. Its gonna be the Red Camp winning all over again from Oct-Nov 2010 with the realease of the new series.

Very interesting times ahead for the GPU segment esp. considering the new Intel IGP seems to beat the entry level HD5450 and speculations of AMD IGP being as powerful as the HD5570/HD5670.

So all plans of buying a GPU should probably be laid to rest for a while
And you will keep waiting forever if you think on the same lines. It doesn't work this way with technology not at least a component like GPU. ;)

was thinking of buying 460 or 450 after or during october through a relative from US who is coming here in november

which company gives international warranty so that if i buy it from US i can avail the warranty in India ?

I dont think any company entertains international warranty. Correct me if am wrong:)

I don't think so cos GTS 250 cost 7K which is lot cheaper at $ ...

It will surely come below 8k ...GTS 250 was all old stock imported at higher prices :P

AM guessing Zotac GTS 450 will be 7.2~7.5k a month after launch :P

Zotac GTX 460 1GB DDR5 which is 229$ launched at 14k ...now is 12.5k or lower :P
