Remarks: personally i dont bother bout these speed testers i believe in real http downloads (contant 35KB/s) and torrent downloads(28-38KB/s) experiences, and till now i havent faced any speed issues, wat they is wat u get, although the most sucktacular thing bout them is their Ingenious Pricing schemes.... >.<

Edit btw on SG servers i get a ping of 70ms

Remarks: Perfectly satisfied with the connection... they deliver what they promise all the time.

Remarks: I have no problems with Download & Upload speeds. Also no problems with my ISP in terms of Uptime & support ... Pings are kind of bad , will take it up with the ISP.

Hmm Chaos... thanks for showing me this wonderful site. I am going to update the first post with Speedtest.net site. It is more user friendly and intuitive.....

anyways.... testing sify Pure Unlimited 256 @ home.

Location: Bangalore
Promised speed: 256/64
Achieved speed:

Ping to Singapore: 551 ms
Ping to USA: 350 ms
Ping within India: 45ms - 55ms
Ping to local gateway: 1ms
Remarks: Hmm, Sify is having some temporary (hopefully) problems with SG Link. Thats why all pings + speeds are effed up. However, otherwise it is good.

Happens (well.. used to) almost always.. I dont know if its the issue with routing, but there are a few IP ranges (the dynamic ones) which used to give me 50~70 pings to Sg servers and other IP ranges that wud give constant 300+ pings. everytime i had to log off and log back in and check if i had the (dynamic) IP i wanted.. else, log out, log back in.. u get the point :P
 
I have been using..sify broadband...for last 3 mnths..and paying Rs.410 for 64 kbps ulimited cnctn...though its 64 kbps..i always get high speeds..and pages load..super fast ..due to firefox tweaking !..also i am ..the only sify user..in whole society..;) .

achieved speed : 88 kbps/ 67 kbps :clap:


though..there..were frequent shutdowns. in the last month..due to some probs...but then i got ..my ip totally into a new range...and now its all up again...working perfect !! i just love sify..for the more than ..expected speeds..i get...even downloads..i get 12 kbps ..constant..and torrents 10 kbps !!:hap2:

ISP: BSNL

Location: Mysore, IN

Promised speed: 256Kbps

Achieved speed: 1024Kbps to Sg server / 275Kbps to US server

Ping to Singapore: ~100ms

Ping to USA: ~250ms

Ping within India:

Ping to local gateway: ~20ms

Remarks: been on BSNL for the last 3 days now. I get good pings on VS server at times (~30ms). SOmetimes it shoots upto 60~80ms. Pings to Sg servers are in excess of 350ms :(

Ping to local gateway: 40ms

Remarks: horrible!! net is down for more than 10~15 days a month, sometimes even more!

Ping to Singapore: Reply from 203.81.39.52: bytes=32 time=69ms

Ping to USA: Reply from 66.102.9.99: bytes=32 time=286ms

Ping within India: Reply from 202.43.219.47: bytes=32 time=22ms

Ping to local gateway: 1ms

Bsnl - 475.30kbps

Bharti - 1.14 Mbps

Remarks: Internet Very good, Lan very bad

Lan is maintained by my internet cablewalla. Ethernet cable problems, switch problems etc.
