A new USB device, called The Leap, creates an 8-cubic-feet bubble of “interaction space,” which detects your hand gestures down to an accuracy of 0.01 millimeters. It doesn’t only detect hand movements and gestures — you can use objects, such as a pen or chopsticks. The Leap is available to pre-order now for $70, and is expected to ship early next year. For now, Leap Motion is actually giving away free units and an SDK to developers .

Good concept. Only few points:
1) Its tooo early to compare with Kinect and reach a verdict that its much better than Kinect since it wont be available on the shelves for a year more.
2)Kinect is a full body( can recognize more than one also ) motion controller. This one is small and can be used only for hand movements.
3)Kinect has already proved itself in many science experiments in the health care sector where as this device may not be available on shelf for about a year more.

Don't take this as criticism. I am just pointing out my observations. Though this idea/concept is great and can have wonderful applications in the future. It can change the way we interact not only with the PC but can also with many other devices if integrated with them.
I like the idea and it has its own specialties but its just too early to compare with Kinect.
Thanks for sharing...

If this sells good . I am pretty sure they will release an higher priced version that can do full body .......
