E52 aint old.

It has been re released just few months back and its an awesome phone for the target users. You can flaunt it w/o thinking even for once that it is an old phone. Its pretty well and a no non sense phone in my opinion.
Never consider Xperia X10 (mini/pro)

Talktime is just not there.

If you are planning to use it as a phone or as a multimedia device.. the talktime just doesnt shows up. Avoid Xperia/X10/Vivaz like plague.

Used all of em and found them draining out pretty quickly. Multimedia features are very nice actually but what's the use if the phone shuts off in the midst??

Queries:

Dude..

I already have an X10 mini.......

Ya.

the battery lasts for a day or a half more but the experience is awesome.......

BTW you can buy a 3000mAH battery for X10 that gives 3days battery(with ease)...

Hello all,

This is for a friend of mine. Can someone help out with a few recommendatios?

Budget is around 8K
The requirements in order of priority are:
1) Mail checking (yahoo, gmail)
2) Gtalk and yahoo messenger
3) Viewing newspaper(epaper) website and portals like rediff
4) Decent battery life with all these applcations
5) A document/pdf viewer.
6) Qwerty keypad if it really makes difference in terms of using these applications.

He likes the Nokia 5230/5235 (btw, whats the difference?) even though it doesnt have the QWERTY k/b.
Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Dear all,

Finally it is time for an upgrade, yahoo!

I am planning to buy a phone for around 15,000.

I like to have loads of applications on my cell.

I hear the Android platform is great for that.

My basic needs are -

Internet surfing (Wi-fi and 3G?)

Opening PDF, doc, xls, txt files

Reading ebooks

Good gaming

I love to toy with new applications and finding new uses for my phone.

I read through the forums and 2 common suggestions were-

1. Spica - This is one Android phone that everyone seems to be recommending

2. Wave - I hear it is a steal for the price it is selling for. However, Bada OS? What's that? Would I get applications for it. Don't you think Android is a more happening and dependable platform?

Final words?

Go with Wave if you can afford it ,nothing can beat it .Applications are being developed at an alarming rate there are lot of apps already .For more info about applications check here Bada Forums

Spica new is no more available and finding a second hand is also difficult. If you want android then get it else no go.

Given your budget, If you want to have loads of apps, Android is your best bet. Next comes Symbian. The problem with sub 20k Android phones is that they come with inferior hardware and display quality is bad. Check these phones:

1. HTC wildfire

2. Samsung i5800

3. Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini and X8.

if you are okay with symbian, check Nokia X6. The overall package is total VFM.

Samsung Wave, on the other hand, is the best mobile phone availalbe inside 20k. Superb hardware, high multimedia capability etc. It runs Samsung's own smartphone OS BadaOS. Though a new entrant to the market, it is gaining momentum, given the success off Wave. It does lack the application numbers that Anroid or iOS boasts though.

Budget 19k

Shortlisted -

1. Iphone 3G used - around 15k

2. Samsung Wave - 17k

3. Wildfire - 14.4k

4. Any other ?????

Please suggest me the best phone out of them. Wave is good, but future reliability and after sales concerns me.

Needs -

1. Must be repairable easily.

2. Good multimedia experience.

3. Resale.

Is the nokia dual sim phone available now?
Nokia announced the launch of the two models today. One is priced at 1999 and the other at 2500. Difference is the latter plays music and supports microSD. These are MRPs, so street price would be much lesser.

If a person is looking at the micromax w900, what are the other alternatives that are worth looking into?

is there anything from android stable in and around the same price range having gps and wifi. 3G would be an advantage not necessary.
