Unless Ekta Kapoor takes over... :bleh:

But as much as I love batman, doing something like that would suck even more.

it's a running joke.... dc comics will kill off anyone and everyone at least once. superman. electra. captain america. cable. they all come back eventually or someone 'steps up' to continue the role. it's so predictable.

having said that, if you can, try and get the dcp scans of batman rip (i doubt we'll be able to buy it here). nice story arc.

Say... I would like to see that, reminds me of "Batman of the Future" animated series. Too bad, it didn't run that well but I enjoyed whatever episodes that were aired here. I guess the most basic plot of coming of new batman too weak, unlike the strong emotional struggle of Bruce Wayne's transformation of Batman, and I'm talking about original comic here... not movies or serial's way of showing. No way they can display that part like in comic else they'll end up running entire season on just that part. Even Nolan's brilliant re-start of Batman (Batman Begins) couldn't put it that effectively.

i always felt that batman begins dragged on a little too much, and you're right, it didn't manage to put the transformation across very well. (personally i think nolan and bale are kinda over rated anyway).

more to the point, it would most likely be robin who took it upon himself to become batman. that, or bruce wayne isn't really dead and after long turmoil he'll return or something like that.

basically, no one stays dead in comics.

Maybe Bill Gates can be the next batman- then again people might figure it out if he takes too long to boot up his car or using a parachute. Nobody wants to be in his place if Bill Gates' batman suit asks him "Are you sure you want to open the parachute?' 30-40 feet off the ground.

Or what if he gets a Blue Screen while doing that?

Or maybe, he gets a "Safeley Remove" thing when he is trying to take out his Batarangs ?

:rofl::rofl:

Bruce Wayne made Batman. Bruce Wayne was Batman. Without Bruce, there can be no Batman.

I used to think so, so I understand your quote... but as Bruce himself has said, Batman is more than a person, he is a symbol. As long as they carry it forward sensibly I can live with new Batman. But then again, they always have tendency to screw up such things. :P

they cud have atleast made him retire as batman as in "Batman of the Future" or atleast let him die of old age and NOT kill him off....but i really hope he doesn't die in that crash...he must somehow escape it....plz god let it happen or let him die in some other way with dignity...

now that i c it...its now i start realizing batman comics r becoming darker and terrifying as time has passed...i guess Nolan is responsible for the change after TDK.... i also read some of the screen shots of the scans of the comic book....and the script looks kinda complicated....Thomas Wayne coming back.... ???? thats really a complicated story....

Wow...they killed Ol' Batsy!!!

Maybe he survived...used his Bat-Grappling hook to swing away..

Need to get the entire RIP series now...DAMN!!!

well....i managed to get my hand on the Batman RIP comic set...

(dont ask me how :cool2: and yes they are NOT fake ones...only originals)....

heres the list of comics included in the Batman RIP checklist

1)Batman #676-681

2)Detective #846-850

3)Nightwing #147-150

4)Robin #175-176

5)Batman and the Outsiders #11-13

the 676-681 editions are where the 2 plot kill Batman is made and its in 681 where Batman finally meets his end....the other ones (Detective #846-850,Nightwing #147-150,Robin #175-176,Batman and the Outsiders #11-13) are basically other adventures and stories of Batman and his alliances with other heroes and superheroes...

i have to admit at first i felt shocked on hearing that batman is being killed off. but after reading the whole series...heres my first verdict...i found the whole series to be a big flop.Morrison, the author of the book has not done any planning on creating the enemies of Batman....The Black Glove's background is not given..there are many new villains involved whose background have not been given... half way through the series i didnt understand what the hell was morrison doing....i mean there are no links explaining the complicated events...i didn't understand one thing abt the series...honestly after reading the books i felt like "what the hell is grant morrison doing ?"....i think morrison's real reason for doing this was to do with TDK's success and popularity i guess.......and with the DVD and Blu Ray releases for TDK, its no surprise that TDK will finally cross the Billion Dollar threshold at the Box Office which i think will b the first movie which i know to ever do so in the history of Hollywood...

TDK movie showed a very dark Batman thats emotionally and mentally drained......thats wot u will find in Batman RIP series ...its very violent for one thing showing Bruce Wayne's character to b having hallucinations and having difficulties to continue on as Batman...

Anyways i dont wanna reveal everything for those ppl who want to find them out themselves....But b4 u go for it....let me repeat my opinion...Batman RIP is a flop IMO.....it would have been gr8 if Morrison would have given more thought to the villain characters....he finishes the whole thing in just 6 books only, each book containing abt 20-24 pages approximately...so thats hardly any story if u gather all the 6 books to finish off Batman i guess...i guess this could have been a popularity stunt on Morrison's part to gather moolah and divert attention to from TDK's success at the BO...

morrison is an idiot no doubt. but the story itself was pretty decent. it's a comic book, not a novel, you can't expect tons of detail in it.

also, i don't think there is any animosity between the comics and the movies. they are 2 totally separate entities, and the movies only draw the framework from the comics... other than that there is no connection between them. so yea, they don't really give a **** about the movies and the story wouldn't be designed to harm them as you think.
