There are many 'morons who buy these type of machines and i must say , they are COMPLETE n00bs .

buying a console, a 60'' hdtv and a 7.1 home theater is better which wil never get out dated within 6 months

^^ +1 PC gaming is turning out to be quiet an expensive hobby .
would be a lot cheaper to get a console and for the money you spend on peripherals and upgrading you could buy hell lot of games.

PC Gaming gets outdated every 6 months because there is constant quality, resolution improvement. Whereas, with a console, you are stuck with the same hardware and quality for the consoles entire lifespan.
Buy a PC gaming hardware today, and it works for atleast an year, not 6 months. Those 8800 are still strong today.

And like consoles, dont go for the higher quality settings of the new games, as and when new games come out, reduce the quality settings.

^whats the use, wen you buy a top end thing and it gets outdated in 6months?? Its the feeling that matters..If i buy a ps3 i can be happy knowing i own a niche product with best performance in its category for atleast 3yrs..

More over dont forget that as the console ages, game makers learn the best ways to optimise the games on the consoles, so there is quality improvement there also..

Thirdly, as most of these rigs are for gaming, it makes sense to go for consoles as they offer a richer gaming experience..also with likes of xbox 360 running linux, there's lot less to complain..

One argue that keyboard and mouse are diff, well most consoles hav keyboard mouse accessories too:P
