Ahem .......One of the reasons could be they are smart consumers rather than blind fanboys ;) ! Let me reiterate, buy what is best for you and gibes you the best bang for the buck instead of engaging in fanboyism ;) For me it was Nvidia-Nvidia-then ATi, dunno what's my next card is going to be............. :)

RivaTNT2 - MX440 - Ti4600 - 5700LE - 9800 Pro - FX5200 - 6600GT.. :ohyeah: am not even thinking of upgrading any time soon ;)
 
LOL ATI is pushing the speed limits, and Nvidia is for innovation. Radeon 8500 going for raw speed, ti series going for innovation, 9700 pro going for raw speed, fx 5800 ultra going for innovation (Actually a blow dryer cum a GFX is an innovation !!! )

Saumil:About the EULA,thats a just a "precautionary" measure.There is no way that u void ur warranty by that,unless u oc ur card so much that it fries(could happen to ati too).And if u use the "choose optimum speeds" from the frequency panel,u are unlikely to damage anything.
Aces:Again back to fx-bashing? :no: The GF4Ti was much better value than the 8500 any day.It was months b4 8500 got stable drivers.U can still find the 8500 "driver-hell" on many old BBs.ATi in fact used Nvidia's idea of unified drivers for all cards and came up with catalyst.
The GF6 stands for innovation and the X800 for pure clock pushing. ;)
PS:ATI also locks many of its lower-end cards from oc'ing-u can't use the official drivers and overclock them.A good example is the 9550/9600np.

I wouldnt call it FX - Bashing, its just that line was utterly crap, whether you admit or not. I am not a FANATIC as I am aware of the fact and completely agree with the fact that Geforce 6xxx series was a breakthrough series, infact I will be getting a couple of 6600 GT's from the states for my cousin's comp. Had I not bought my Radeon 9800 pro, I would have blindly bought the 6600 GT unfortunately when I bought my card they werent available. But even the Nvidiots have gotta admit that the 9xxx series was a much better series then the FX series.

Also 8500's were not comparable with the TI series they were slotted against the Geforce 3, and I agree their driver support was pathetic prior to CAT series. Neverthe less they were the first cards to support PS 1.4, infact it was only later that their true worth was known. Also what about the 9700 pro which is heralded as the best video card till date, a 3 year old card which can yet play all the latest games at a good IQ and decent framerates.
 
The 9700 does choke in modern games like chronicles of riddick.Though yes it is among the top 3 best vfm cards ever made-GF3,gf4 ti 4200 and the 9700.
The best card could also be the GeForce 3-came out in 2001 and was excellent till the first quarter of 2004.The Ti 4200 is also a very close contender,in many games where advanced features are not used it is still equal to the 9600/5700 cards.
As for the 8500,it was pitted against both the gf3 ti and the gf4 ti till aug'02 when the r3xx was lauched.
 
Chronicles of Riddick is an Opengl based game, though I doubt a 9700 pro would choke, cause my radeon 9800 pro gives decent framerates at a good IQ. 9700 pro is more or less 5% slower. In D3d it will yet perform decently.

Geforce 3 was good no doubt as it introduced Shader support, but it lacked the fillrate processing power for AA and AF. 9700 pro not only introduced SOLID SM 2.0 support 6 months before DX 9.0 debuted but also raised the IQ bar with playable framerates in AA and AF. Infact my cousin was contempalating buying a Geforce 3 when it debuted, but instead bought a Gf2 ultra which was faster at that time.

Recently arudit started an AMD vs Intel thread. I thought of an nvidia vs ATI thread.

Mainly coz' most TE members are clearly AMD fans(as of now). But the ATI vs nVidia battle is still going on. One nvidiot(no offence dude.... you yourself made this name..... :ohyeah: ) I can think of is Undertaker....

So, anyway post here all you want abt ATI vs NVIDIA.....

Let the WAR BEGIN

I simply Love Nvida , No Reasons to explain , why.
But that doesnt mean i hate Ati.

Both are simply gr8 , but its just i prefer Nvida over Ati [Cant Explain why]

Also Gr8 Ati Brands like BBA,HIS[Ice-Q],Saphire,Hercules[3D Prophet Series] are not found here.
Earlier MediaTech used to have Hercules dont know if they have it now.

Where as NVida cards from Gainward,ASUS,LeadTek,Gigabyte which has gr8 NVida cards are available here with local warranty.

Miss BFG OCed Edt Nvida Here

And as of now, nVidia rocks mainly coz' for people whgo want the best performance with no costs barres, they can go for an SLi system. But let us wait a little before starting a new war. Let us wait till Crossfire is fully released or at leats till both G70 and R520 are released....
