Videos seems to make 'look' good. But the textures and reflections(in the Aston) doesn't quite live upto a game of '10.

@Ethan, hows the Bond game that came before this? Quantum of Solace? on a scale of 10? thanks.

recent bond games sucked big time .

OBnd on the PS1 was pritty good.

also the bond FPS was good ... and the N64 (goldeneye)one is legendary

Its sad how the quality of the series has degraded considerably.

i hope this one is different ...it sure has taken a different approach(looks like a Third Person shooter)

QoS was pathetic. The only Bond games I have really enjoyed were James Bond: Everything or Nothing & From Russia With Love on the PS2 and The World is Not Enough on the PS1. All three of them stuck to the true Bond essence. The last game was an FPS, which I hate for Bond games (The World if not Enough being an exception). It had no vehicular sequences, albeit the movie had one. Plus the PC port was messed up. So I'm hoping they don't mess up the PC version this time.

did high noo studios port blur for the pc?

Nope. High Moon Studios only ported Transformers: War for Cybertron on the PC. Bizarre Creations, on the other hand, had done Blur on the PC.

you got to play the N64's goldeneye, its great even now ( if you can digest the graphics)

its great.

I think I'll pass for now. Hardly get much time to play these days.

though the cover and shooting mechanics seem solid the game gets painfully repetitive after a while even the cool take downs loose their shine after a while the facial animation is horrible but the take down animations and the charachter animations are doe really well the graphics looks very PS2ish :P the drive sequence seem solid again gets repetitive. couldnt care much for the multiplayer part the game is very meh

Correction, the in-game graphics look fantastic, very much like SC: Conviction. But the cut-scenes look straight out of a PS2 modelled factory. Apart from that, I'd have to agree with what you said. It fails on capturing the true essence of Bond, AGAIN! I think EA always stuck true to the franchise and handled it with a great deal of authenticity. Since their contract ended, I think the franchise has been thrown around a lot. Treyarch f*cked up with QoS and now Bizzare Creations are doing the same. This game is still OK compared to QoS.

There is very limited use of gadgets. All I see is the use of your smart phone which is a similar feature to that of 'detective mode' in Batman: Arkham Asylum, minus the X-Ray vision. You can monitor enemy movements and interactive objects in this mode. Also borrowing another feature is the 'focus lock' which is very similar to mark-and-execute ability in SC: Conviction. You perform a melee kill on an enemy and your focus gauge meter fills up. Once you activate focus attack, you head into slow-mo and the cross-hair performs an auto lock on and you can perform instant kills. You can achieve 3 kills simultaneously in this mode, provided you have 3 focus attack meter stocked up.

Driving sequences are pretty generic with limited interactivity. It breaks into cut-scenes very often. Facial animations in the cut-scenes are horrible. Voice acting is good as they reprise the original voice actors. Graphics look really good, but the frame rates are a bit wobbly in outdoor environments. My friend mentioned his 5850 wasn't doing much good with this game either. Anyhoo, for generic TPS fans, you can give it a shot. Hardcore Bond fans, can skip it.

This game is still OK compared to QoS.
Strange most of the reviewers thinks otherwise.

Infact the game has been praised for this part only.

Anyways never been a bond game fan.Completed only one bond game till now that is nightfire. But still i didnt liked it much.
What i think is bond games should be made in third person like this one. Why they used to make it as a fps in its previous titles. have no idea.

QoS could be termed as a Call of Duty version of Bond. After all, Treyarch was the developer, so they went all out with the COD style FPS run and gun. Besides, QoS was based on the movie, which itself was a joke.

So far I have got 3 chase sequences. The first one involved a boat chase, which allowed us to shoot enemies without even the need to aim (slow-mo + auto lock YAY!). The next 2 were car chase sequences which were just dodge incoming vehicles and perform a few quick turns. Some random explosions would occur and you'll see stuff crumbling down. Nothing out of the usual.

I don't understand why the heck do these developers keep releasing Bond games which are essentially nothing more than plain FPS/TPS games. Personally I think Alpha Protocol makes for a nice template for making Bond games. Add some cool gadgets, balance the talking and action bits, add some vehicular action and you have a nice bond game.
