What are the diseases that are common with German Shepherd. Wiki mentioned almost all larger breed affected by hip and elbow dysplasia. It also depends on Hereditary and genes. Getting a healthy pup is a key. But i am not an expert in finding good and bad.
I do love stray dogs. As i have posted in photography thread, that small dog badly injured with a very big knife cut on her shoulder, Skin torn apart :( . Went to pharma and got bandage and boric powder. It got cured pretty quickly and from that day onwards it was in front of our gate. What I observed it is mentally retarded dog. Even a 2 month pub will get no respect from this 6 month old. Even if you drop the biscuit it will keep on looking your hand for the biscuit else it will start smelling the traces.. though the biscuit is in front of her eyes :rofl: boy it looks so funny.
How difficult to train her as she is already 6 months and IQ is pretty poor.

They are also prone to tumours near their brain and like any large dogs they also suffer from gastric torsion.

If you are not an expert in finding a dog, then seek help from people who already have German Shepherds. They are a pretty hardy breed, but Chennai heat gets them down sometimes due to their coat.

Regarding the stray, Dogs can get mental disease, but not in the form of what you are telling me. Usually the mental disease is pretty destructive and they die sortly or have to be put down. The stray simply doesn't seem to be interested in eating biscuits out of your hand:eek:hyeah:

Thanks.. I am moving my family to Bangalooru next week. What could be the price of GSD pup ?. How about getting from Ooty or Kodaikanal. I know its pretty difficult to train her so it will be left there :( . What i was referring if she is near by and throw the biscuit couple of feet away..she will still watch my hand or start sniffing the road to find the trace of the biscuit though just 2 feet from her. By that time some dog will take that away graciously.
