well at last im buying a new rig :P
well everything else is set : 1gb ram 160gb hdd etc now the only thing is that i need a good mobo which is cheap and best, cause i dunt think ill overclock my proccy or anything im plannin to get a 3200+ and since im on a tight budget i want to buy a nice and cheap mobo for it..so the a8v is slightly expensive for me.... well to put it str8 can u suggest a good mobo for both platforms agp/pcie... im in vizag and the guy is offerin a gigabyte mobo and 3200+ @13k .... but i dunt wana go for gigabyte anymore sick of it.....so plz help me out....

Go for the MSI RS 480 if you want a cheap mobo. It is good but not very good for oc'ing.... it is a PCIe mobo...... Better you go for a PCIe mobo as it is the future and all new cards are being released on PCIe. And you do not have to buya graphics card immediately as this mobo has onbaird graphics which are decent.....

But if you are interested in serious gaming like your name suggest :bleh: you better buy 6600GT for around 10K.

BTW, the RS 480 costs around 6K.

It all depends on your graphic card options.
The gigabyte mobo is good if you want to run it at stock. It has some bios issues that prevent it from overclocking well.
But if you want to get maximum out of your system and you are enthusiast you would probably be looking for overclockable mobo.

For AGP system IMHO the best mobo available here is Asus A8V Dlx Revision 2.0. I would not suggest MSI K8N neo2 only for its sucky 2.85v vdimm which is only good if you have tccd RAM which is almost impossible to find here and you already have 1Gig.

And MSI is also more expensive than A8V. So if A8V is expensive for you then it shuts out that option too.

RS480 has too many limitations for my liking. Overclocking is huge disadvantage and add to that USB problems of that board.

And as said if you are looking for sub 14K system then you should go for the Gigabyte mobo and 3200+ combo.
Or I have 3200+ and A8V Dlx for sale for 14k.

dude i have a 9800pro and im trying to sell that if i can(anyone intersted :P) then ill go for pcie otherwise will have to go for a agp ......... so any suggestion for a good agp mobo?

You didn't say that..... you need to be clear :bleh:

Anyway for an AGP mobo, I guess the best is the A8V Deluxe or the Neo2 Platinum. They perform well..... and oc well also but as you say oc'ing is not your priority.....

You can check out the market section. Funky Monkey has an A8V + 3200+ for sale at 14K. It is a very good deal for that price..... you better pick it up fast.......

@Funky --- If Neo2 Plat has only 2.85 Vdimm, then it is still better than A8V. A8V has only 2.8

@Satan --- What is the exact model name of the gigabyte mobo being offered to you??

according to XS the neo2 overvolts the vdimm to 2.9v when set to 2.85 as well

He isnt gonna Oc' ya'll :P ! So the msi rs480 shud suit him well afaik ;) For agp the A8v Dlx is good enough. Still satan first decide if your going to sell this card and get a pcie 6600GT.

I know.... that is why I recommended the RS 480... then he saus that he needs an AGP mobo. the A8V is the best...Actually, any decent AGP mobo like the meo2, A8V, performs the best and also oc's pretty decently...... If he goes for one of these, then he can always have the opportunity to oc later if he wants :bleh:

Go for the combo offered by Funky Monkey.... Real good VFM. Otherwise, it will cost you almost 6 K more....
