How long did it take you guys ? With what speed ? I am still stuck with dialup for atleast a few months.

With the PE dont even expect the updates ! @ It will take you quite some time to download the updates since we have had Hl2 since quite some time now so the updates have been trickling ever since. For you it is going to be a one time huge update so i would suggest that you lug your PC to a bb connection if you can or vice versa. On dialup i shudder to think how much time it would take.
 
My freind was brave enough to let his comp run for 3 days to download. I have told my uncle to get HL2 from mumbai, so it should be here by thursday. No idea about any bb connection in my town. I registered for Data1 but they say it will take atleast a month. Damn !
 
well, if u can, take ur harddisk to a friend of urs having broadband, or you can install hl2 at his place, update it on his harddrive, back the game files, burn it on a dvd and bring it :P or u can take ur harddisk and copy it coz as i said, backup is atleast 3.5 gig :P

it shud not take more than 6-7 hrs on a 128 k connection, but it depends on the isp really, i had to keep it on for a kool 8 hrs for it to complete and then it even unlocks css, so thats like 2-3 hrs more :P

on a side note, i downloaded condition zero, the complete game off steam in about 4 hrs, LOL..
 
what are u talking about? i play on that server daily, but mostly on sgwargames stats server :P

I at the moment just want to test this server. So we can decide a time today itself to see how good pings you guys are getting.
This is dedicated server running on a farely powerful machine.
I have my exam on tuesday so i wont be playing but its there for you guys to enjoy.
How about i keep it on today evening from 6 to 10? Just for a test.
If its enjoyable with good pings i might run this every day for couple of hours and whole weekend.
What do you guys say?
And I have put up max players to just 12 for now.
So let me know how many of you are in for the test.
 
that was a great thing u did funky...i also wanted to join the game but could you tell me if u have hosted it for CS 1.6 or CSS. I dont have CSS....reply quickly so that i can get my hands on a cheap copy of CSS...Will a pirated copy of CSS work to connect to your server ???
 
This is CS: Source server.
I dont know if the pirated copy works or not. I have original copy (ATI coupen I got with my 9800XT).
I havent downloaded CS 1.6 yet but maybe i will and put the server up but that will not be possible until next weekend.
For today its CSS.
 
Pirated copy can NOT connect to that server..
