If EU have to pay USA more for self defense, what is the power of all those states in EU and the union itself.

Less than it was twenty years ago, for sure. These euros used to have a backbone once upon a time. Today they have all been reduced to American vassals. I don't understand how this happened.

Now they do as they are told!!

Till will tell when unexpected shifts can happen.

This happened more to America's adversaries than America.

It's a matter of time when that empire start to crumble, will take some time, that is all.
Things were almost unseen till cold war, then the world became open and skeletons started to tumble out from closets.

The human and societal costs of what they did in Iraq war, erstwhile Iran till jasmine revolution, other failures effected countries and societies, now in RU vs UA, etc. The societal impact of all this is unseen and will be exposed in due time.

Unfortunately only for the people of those countries concerned. Nobody else. Ukraine had a wider impact. Otherwise these conflicts have been pretty well contained. For instance they have not spilled over into neighbouring countries.
