State owned media says what the state wants it to say. It's not an independent organisation. Anyway no point getting too deep into this particular article. The whole point of showing it was that Russia expected this to end quick, that's why they even refused to use the term war. They had made their intentions clear with the massive convoy headed to Kyiv.

Yes but that article has no statements from government officials does it. That's why I called it an op-ed. In the opinion of the author which might have consensus but with no substantiation.
The reason the term war was not used as that implies mandatory conscription in Russia. This wasn't required and would cause unnecessary confusion. But saying operation does not have that requirement.
Intimidation without having to fire a shot.
At the outset he didn't relent. But why pull out of the peace deal two months later.

Exactly. Because he wanted to be the president for ever even though elections were to be held in 2024 they were not conducted citing war. If elections were to be held in Ukraine now Zelenskyy will not win & he badly wants money & weapons to flow so that he can sell them in black market to make more money. Why would anybody want to fight when any peace deal or ceasefire was given as a chance to stop the fighting or killing of innocent civilians.
Do anybody think that Zelenskyy is a saint sent by Christ to save Ukraine? He is also just an ordinary man like everybody else who wants to remain in power eternally and amass money through continually fighting. There are no saints nowadays anywhere in the world. He is not Mother Theresa. Don't idolize him.

Sounds like if Russians just go home they will spoil Zelensky's whole plan as he will have to conduct elections and will not get any money for war. It might be that Putin and Zelensky are working together on this conspiracy

Which will be the case if a ceasefire or peace treaty was worked out presumably by Trump. The money that comes after won't be for war but reconstruction. So he gets a cut there too.
But there has to be war before there can be an reconstruction isn't it.
If a peace treaty was accepted two months after the conflict began there wouldn't be any more money for war and whatever reconstruction would be minimal.

Yes exactly. You spoke mans greed in the present times. Nobody is a saint when it comes to making money or getting power. So Zelenskyy is no exception here.
Even in the case of Palestine Israel conflict if Hamas hasn't meddled with Israel in the 1st place in October,2023 there would not be any war at all.
Now because Gaza is razed to ground and Hamas has no place to go or hide even in the tunnels they have dug, now they are coming to POK which irked our IB & RAW. In addition to ISI & Jihadis, now we have Hamas to worry about at our north western sectors.
Hamas founders and other main supporters have palatial homes in UAE which look like medieval castles while simple jihadis fight for them losing their lives.
Now in both conflicts who got affected or killed is just simply the common people who won't be given millions of dollars to regain their homes or livelihood.
Restoration or reconstruction after any war means again the money flows to the contractors and men in charge of the regions. So ultimately people in power will become richer by the minute either way.
