Nice work Abhi , i never new that i had another budding Animator Admidst us. I think that all this has been done in Autodesk MAX, because as of now im just starting with Texturing in Max for which i was handed out the Models of the Kitchen as well as the parking lot by my teacher.

Though i dont know a thing about lighting as of now , but you surely have made your renders come alive with some superb texturing and inspiring lighting.

Keep it up Mate.

thnx dude ....to get better in lighting just read more books on it and try all the gnomon tutorials on lighting and colour theory itll help tremendously ....and observe everythng :ohyeah:

@abhi: really cool work! I like your model a lot; thought I do like much of your other work better, probably because of the lighting :) I hope you're open to a bit of constructive criticism, cause here it comes (this is mostly from a photography and graphic design point of view mostly :P )

First what I like about it.. :) The body of the car looks really well modeled, I love all the angles etc. and they look a lot like the real thing. Textures on the body are also very well done. I also like the materials you've used.

Now on to what I feel can be improved... You can probably add a bit of specular to the body and add several lights above it to light it like a showroom or car advert; preferably some kind of long rectangular lights if Maya had them. I read that you're still working on the environment, but I'm just giving you a suggestion out of what my photography professor has taught me about lighting hehe.. I don't know if the reflections/car lights have been done by your renderer or if you've put them in later in PS, but it sort of looks fake right now :| If you've done it in PS, maybe it'll be cooler to do it in Maya itself? Or use a non-reflective base? Also the tyres look like they could use some work. Have you used a bump map for the front tyres? Maybe a displacement map would look more realistic... or if it's already a displacement map, then you could try fiddling with the displacement amount.

I really don't have a lot of experience with 3D, but whatever I've mentioned comes from my limited knowledge of 3D and a relatively extensive knowledge of aesthetics, GD and photography. :P I hope some of this helps!

Oh, I would also suggest going through some photography books or articles to understand lighting, materials, environments and composition. This is @Zero Cool as well.

Anyway, great job! I hope to see more from you, and do join deviantART. Give me a visit there if you do. ( Deathdart on deviantART )

thnx deathdart ill keep them in mind and ill do those changes ....abt tyres ure right i have to use some bump or displacement the problem is im still learning texturing and doing uvs of those tyres is a lengthy process.

What you could try is just select the polygons on the tyre which have the tread and apply the material only to those. That's what I'd done... it's much easier n quicker in combination with uvw mapping instead of using unwrap uvw.

yeah ill try tht but mostly problem comes whn selecting the faces ...the poly count is very high.

chck this out natural history

Hmm... maybe it's easier in MAX because of the ring/loop selection. Anyway I'm sure you'll figure it out :)

Gud stuff @ natural history, though the pillar texture strike me as odd... :|

I havent opened the UVs as yet coz im very new to texturing still learning the textures are mapped for now.:P

Pretty Interesting, my Professor , got me started with texturing first & we are still to do Lighting , on another hand you have begun with lighting first & are getting slowly down to texturing , BTW where are you doing your course in Animation from ?

Im Working from last 4 years for a studio ...Im TL for my lighting department so learning texturing and im also learning to draw and paint with the graphic tablet...have little bit of spare time.
