Dodge Dodge Dodge! Roll like ur a tumbleweed :-P

also the skill tree can be a bit confusing, when in doubt always invest in mutatable skills

Only thing you need to do is experiment! And getting used to the combat will take time. Even playing the first would not help in this since the combat mechanism is completely different!

Yeah quite figured that out yesterday. Was experimenting the different tactics using rolling and the different signs that can be cast. Ultimately, decided to stick to Quen since it seems to protect Geralt from the hits from all corners. When I get flanked by the AI, I try rolling. :P

As for the skill tree, just completed the Training portion of it and the others got unlocked. With the X360 controller, the gameplay is a breeze! The movements are very fluid. Need to keep pressing F5 for saving though.

The fight with the kayran is tough even on Normal difficulty.

Just curious but should I be fabricating the silver sword before the Kayran encounter? Paused the game where Geralt and Triss head to the rumbles to collect the mucus of the creature.

Damn, the game seems very addictive. Played for 4 hours non-stop after dinner until I crashed! :ashamed:

I don't think the Silver sword is necessary for the type of fight you have against the Kayran. Its more dodge than combat!

But why take the chance? :P

Btw, did you take the side mission for that elf lady who is accused of luring 2 soldiers to their death? I hate the creatures (forgot the name) in the cave - b33ches attack you in groups!

Nope. Not many side missions undertaken by far. The only few that I've attempted and recall are the duels, arm-wrestling etc. A mental hospital mission also turned up but is very far. :P

Heck those retarded creatures owned me during an encounter. Initially one or two came and happily sliced my way to glory only to realise later I got flanked with 5~6 of them and stood no chance of surviving. :ashamed:

Btw those side missions we are talking of - are those the ones we get from the notice boards?

Uncle, how far have you progressed? :)

You don't necessarily have to look for notice boards to get additional missions. I take missions from anyone and everyone I talk to :P

I stopped with the Kayran mission. Haven't played anything for 3 weeks almost. This has been movie time

This has been parenting time

Fixed it for you. :bleh:

I love the duels in the game. Piss easy but initially I used to keep tapping the required key which is indicated since the key used to flash. They should have just showed it plain simple. Later realised that I was missing a second key to be pressed immediately after pressing the first.

Its been both :P Seen close to 15 movies in the last 3 weeks :ashamed:

And been spending close to 4~5 hrs every weekend with the master

How could you miss the 2nd key sequence? You're going blind :bleh:

Errr.. Did the game not ship with a DRM which was removed by the first patch? :S

It shipped with SecureROM, which was removed by the first patch after it was found that it greatly improved the loading times. By the way, anyone knows if it is available in retail stores now?

Available in Flipkart and Intencity as well. Why bother with other shops? :P

Yay I just defeated the Kayran. Boy I am feeling on top of the world right now! It was quite a battle. Took me at least a dozen tries to figure out the right moves. :D

Completed a lot of side quests as well. Can someone guide me where the chest is, wherein Geralt recovers some papers and key from the boat wreck's site? The quest name is Mystic River. Don't want to refer a walkthrough for that. The map doesn't give us any clue on that unfortunately.

You will find that in the next chapter.

Completed this side quest yesterday as well. I agree those creatures try to flank you. But tell you what, get yourself a Silver blade crafted ASAP! Helps against monsters and such creatures alike. If you noticed, at the lower right corner of the display, stats is displayed when Geralt is engaged in a battle - I happened to notice that the long sword is not effective against such creatures. So got myself a silver blade crafted and it was a breeze later! :D

The b1tch betrayed Geralt! When I thought I could do her a favor by saving her life, she responded in kind with a bunch of Scoia'tael troops. :@

Finished them, searched for her in the forest and finished her as well!

Thanks! :)

The boss battle with Letho was a lot lot harder than battling Kayran. :( Lost count of the number of times I tried and died. Ultimately, I had to lower the difficulty from Normal to Easy. But this was another stoopid decision! It became a lot easier since Letho doesn't bother casting signs or his spinning sword move. Hack-slash, hack-slash and he was done almost instantly.

I have the silver blade - that was the first thing I did :P

Did come across that Letho is a pain in the arse. You just confirmed it :P

As for the b33ch, I let her be taken away  You wanted to score and got this :bleh:
