Ok, ok, not another thread asking the above two things :P

I have a friend who deals in bikes in Pune for a living (Further info u want, PM me :P).

Went to him yday, heres the scoop for those interested before the official launch.

BHP: 18 :ohyeah: CONFIRMED

Pricing: Acc to some auto journo he called up then n there, on-road pune will be around 1.05-1.1L.

Those who believe me, fine, those who dont, leave a comment, wait till the launch, and we shall c :bleh:

PS: Yamaha opened a new showroom in Wakdewadi, Pune Yday. They dont have it on display but supposedly (thats my source ;)) there are 4 working and 1 broken down R15 parked around back (test bikes :)). If no visible, ask them and they might allow you to take a look too :)

Oh, and my roomie saw those 4 test bikes zooming along on Pashan Road :P
 
@chaos, not really. With a wt of 130KGs and the yamaha engine, imagine the power to weight ratio of this thing :) It should still zoom like a rocket.

@Rahlrulez: Dont hold me to it, but this should be better than those.

Also, the bike is very very compact/small (but then, hes a big bike guy, ordering a hayabusa :P). Me, I like compact: more maneuverable + nice for short guys, like me for instance :ohyeah:
 
^^ Yeah... 1 lakh is definitely too high for a 150cc bike.

Atleast they should launch it with a lower price tag.

own a P220 hell yea but a ZMA? I dont think so.. ZMA is built like a tank. Excellent quality and the engine is real smooth.. Trying to get a TD of the bike next weekend will post my feedback then.

ok, so the bikes been launched :ohyeah:

17PS tho :( but then again, on the +tive side, 120Kg dry and 130Kg dripping wet :P

Theres a lively discussion thread going on the same on xbhp...ppl fighting over whether it ll beat the karizmas and pulsars without anyone having driven it yet :rofl:

THo from the 1 or 2 ppl quoting frnds/journos at the track doing the testing today, the bike is THE best bike to hit India till now, period.

Now just lets see how those bike reviews come out :)

went to the yamaha showroom in the afternoon as its near to my office and there was no work lol ...... there were at least 50 R-1-5s parked there, anyways i asked the owner for the power output and he told me 16.5bhp , i asked him 2-3 times as if its official and from yamaha and he said yes . build and finish is quit good on the bike and on-road price is 108,000 in chennai.....
 
a light bike doesnt matter much when you weigh over 100 :ashamed:

and to be honest , i dont know how much over 100. i dont know, and i dont want to find out :P
