OC & Modding Thermalright Assassin vs Deepcool ak/ag 400 ?

So this topic was finally moved to it's own thread huh. It was bound to happen. It's hard to keep the deals and discount thread clean. I appreciate the efforts by admin/mods :)

On the topic, both air coolers are similar in specs with both beating each other in different fields, at least on paper. So yes get whichever one.
Specs page for others to compare.

I want the Indian price specifically. I bought a Thermalright single tower single fan cooler for my friend locally for 2.4k (white, don't remember the model). But have not seen them online.

I think the one listed in deals thread was available for 1.8K INR for a brief period of time and since then has gone out of stock. There are others available like the white one but it's not the same model and the price is very high as well so not worth getting. Same with the non-RGB black version.

What tower cooler can you guys recommend for Ryzen 5 5600x? (In future I will upgrade to Ryzen 7 5700X3D).
Current idle temp is 55 degrees (Delhi) with stock AMD cooler.

I was thinking about
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB
thermalright phantom spirit 120
Deepcool AK620 Digital

But their prices got increased recently by 2X on amazon, and not available anywhere else.

Check this

AG400 is good for 1.8k, else get AG620 or CM 620S at 3k. AG400 should handle upto 150W CPUs w/o throttling.
I'm using 9800X3D with AK400 (better looking AG400). Friend is using AK400 for his 5700X3D.1

You don't need much to cool 5700X3D. I use Ant Esports ICE-C612 V2(single fan) and it works fine. No thermal throttling unless I'm doing 100% workloads which since its a X3D chip it's not really made for them. I do use a -30mV all core UV on the CPU. As for the air cooler itself the quality of it is definitely questionable, like it feels cheap despite having good ARGB fan, branding on the top, proper mount etc. It even has 6 pipes compared to other coolers in the price segment, which to be honest I'm not sure how better it performs due to it as compared to traditional popular 4 pipes air cooler like Deepcool AK/AG400 or similar. I also cut myself while installing the fan as it's very tight to fit (probably how most are but I don't know as this is my first aftermarket air cooler despite building 5 PCs)
I'd call it a value for money air cooler.

Anyway if you aren't looking for a solution this cheap and ugly (I'd consider the air cooler UGLY because of the colour of the heatsink or rather the lack of, lol) you should get Deepcool AG400 instead. If not that I would advice against looking at anything above 3-4k INR because it's unncessary so you will just be wasting your money.

Oh wait... Right.

I think it makes sense.

Thanks for the detailed explanation.
