Hey Funky, U'll face that problem only in Asus board i guess.. Asus has the PCIe x16 slot on the very top.. but on a DFI, the PCIe x16 is the second slot and hence there is ample room for the cooler. Check the attached pic.. even with a XP-90c, there is enough space for that Thermalright GPU cooler..
