Thinking of buying a Alienware

Hi,
I am planning to buy an Alienware M14x.
the config i have decided is :
i7 2820 QM 2.3Ghz
8Gb DDR3 1600Mhz
3Gb, nvidia 555M
500 GB hard
normal 8x optical drive
Vizio Wireless HD transmitter
1 year advanced dell service
Window 7 64-bit
Alien Orion backpack
.

What do u guys think of the config ?
and if you think i should go for something else , then please tell me.

I wont be getting it from India as they give only Generic Name plate, they do not have the 1 year advance service and moreover in India they also dont have the Vizio wireless HD transmitter.
The indian price of this M14x, without all these i have mentioned is Rs. 1,19,000.
And the same with all the above will cost me $2400 in Rs. 1,10,500
 
If it is only the brand name that matters to you, then there is nothing much to say. If not, check the MSI GT780R and the Asus G74SX. They are much cheaper with much better configurations. For less than $2.4K, you can lay your hands on the Asus G74SX-3DE, which you can use to enjoy 3D gaming. Hope this helps. :)

Asus G74SX 3DE for 2k$ would be much better. And that has a much better screen too.If you want to stick with Alienware itself then go with M17X R3 rather than M14x. GT555M is not that powerful for a true gaming machine. You can get the 3D M17x for the same price with everything else that u want.

And if you choose to get the M18x (Also below 2.4k$) you can get 2xGTX560M in SLI or even Dual AMD 6990M by stretching your budget slightly.
 
I would say you either go for the M17x AND above or Asus G74SX 3DE. Spending a bomb on M14x is not really worth it.
 
Hmm. I saw the Asus one, it is gud on all aspects except the proc.

the proc is 26** and that is old and 2Ghz.

MSI , i m not sure about, being in india, if lappy isnt ALIENWARE , then it should be easily purchaseable in INDIA.

If i get a MSI , lappy , how much will it cost me in INDIA , if i buy it from here only and the better than the alien one.
 
LOL 2630qm is not old. It is the latest i7 processor from Sandybridge family. And the difference between 2630qm and 2820qm for an average user is very little and none in gaming. Only professionals will notice a slight speed boost with 2820qm.

As far the proc is concerned, I am into some hardcore gamming and hardcore graphic Designing, so rendering is an major issue, I have a desktop Q6600 OCed to 3.4, i need a gud Lappy for on the go Gaming and rendering.

OK Look , i have around $2.5k , Tell me the best option and the config i can get in this ammount, be it of any brand.

i would preffer 2820qm.
 
Go for Alienware M17x with this config
17.3 inch 1600x900 OR 1920x1080 FHD for 150$ more
Intel Core i7 2820qm
4GB Ram ( You can buy 4GB more for much cheaper from outside)
750GB HDD 7200rpm
1 yr Advanced
Vizio Wireless HD transmitter
AMD Radeon 6990M 2GB :cool2:

Comes to 2550$. I am guessing you are going to use an external LCD/monitor so I suggested the more powerful GPU over a FHD screen. But if that is not the case then downgrade to AMD 6970M and upgrade to FHD 1920x1080 screen.

Guys tell , me all these laptops u r talking about, are these in US ?

I would also not Mind Indian makes , as they are easier to get .

and one thing more, Where can i buy Vizio Wireless HD transmitter alone, i mean separate ?
 
You can buy it from Amazon, ebay etc.

And yes the laptops we suggested are available in US. If you buy in India you will need to pay 1.5lacs +. Only the Asus G74SX is somewhat reasonably priced at 1.15lacs.

If you are buying in india, Alienware is your only option currently. Unless you are ready to use some third party like "shopandship" to get it.

I actually did not understand what you just said...

i will buy a laptop from US only as there is no other Option for buying a laptop in INDIA.

No the Price i told was including customs.

I feel so sad that India is So backward in a lot of things.

bloody hell they give A standard (generic) name plate with the Alienware laptops and they are not even Customisable and Bloody Hell are Priced Much More. I am so Pissed... :@ Errr....

I am just looking for any site which can get me that HD transmitter at a Gud price.
