This may sound really stupid

but there's something me and my bro were wondering.We ve been playing LOTR Third Age for a while and now the game doesnt pay cos of all the scratches.So we were thinking of subsituting it .The question is when we run then new dvd will we be able to play our saved progress?Or because its a new dvd we will have to start frm the beginning(yikes)

u shud be able to continue from where u last saved.

Yes you will be able to continue, but don't uninstall.

Even if u uninstall the game should leave all ur files in ur comp(It usually asks u whether u want to delete all the settings and game progress).
