This is simply irritating. Something that happened to me last week. I along with my roomie were roaming at one of the crowded streets in Shanghai. Here there are all types of people who sell stuff while roaming on roads, very much similar to India. One of the guys offered us fake branded bags and iphone clones and what not. Later he looked quiet interested in us since for these people here we are like aliens, infact anyone who is not a chinese is a alien and they see you as if koi bhoot dekh liya ho.
Coming to the point, this guy asks me

Guy: India ?????
I: Nodding in affirmation
Guy: Slumdog Millionaire ???
I: (in my mind) WTF......just went away from there very irritated and disgusted. What an impression this movie has made to people world over. :@:@

Damn you even get the slumdog DVDs on road for as low as 4 RMB i.e. less than 30 bucks, infact they usually have DVDs (with only one movie) selling for 4-5 RMB. The other day i saw a 8 DVD set, National Geographic 100 documentaries. This was available for 40 RMB

^^dude, rs30/dvd is comman now in mumbai.

regarding SDMill...lol...what u expect from a 1/2 grade failed chinese dude??

Getting good collection Nat Geo stuff is a good idea.

ppl can split up the cost and pass the copies.

i am def in if we have a Go like that ;)

^^ Lolzzzzz

People are more interested in the Nat Geo DVDs :ohyeah:

BTW yes i am going to get that DVDs for sure. I mean 8 DVDs and 100 documentaries..awesome

What else is being sold on roads i will tell

1. LOST Full Box Pack

2. LOTR Full Box Extended Edition

3. Harry Potter all movies till now in one box

4. Almost all the popular TV shows like sex and city, friends etc etc

5. Best part is that these 5 RMB single dvds have BluRay written on the cover and DVD9 written on back side

But it is DVD-5z

BTW none of the above movies are like 4 in 1 etc , they have individual DVDs with subtitles and 5.1 channel sound.

Lol I guess the OP wanted to convey something different and the '100-documentary NatGeo pack for 40 RMB' thingy got the thread carried away.

It is their frustration as they r afraid of India :ohyeah:

Most Chinese say India poses biggest threat: Rediff.com news
