Would it be @ or # symbol ?

It used to # earler, now it has reverted to the old @<iD> tag system,e.g., @Praks.

How to write a short form of generally used sentences?

For example how to write

"As Far As I Know" to look like "AFAIK".

Under the section Optional Information you can see Custom user title where you can change your title by clicking the reset box and entering the desired title in the text box provided.
