So, i just went from intel Q6600 setup to a AMD x2 phenom setup ( Phenom 920 with Biostar 790GXB )
Today i was thinking of overclocking and i fired up the hardware monitor and yikes! TMPIN0 seems to be at 92 C even when the comp is idle...
What exatly is it? why is it so high? i read somewhere this might be due to the bios update, but m not sure...any of you guys no anything on it?
Here is the screenshot of the hardware monitor.

Ok have seen this happen on another biostar as well. That is the NB temp and should be around 35-45 degs. What I would suggest you do is go one bios lower as that seems to solve the problem. So take a copy of your current bios of the net and save it and save a copy of the older bios as well and flash to the older one and poof...your problem is gone...cheers.

thanks mav2000, i downgraded my bios and poof its 45-50 now :)

any logical reasoning for that? was it the case of wrong reporting the temps or the temps were really going that high?

Yup wrong readouts thats about it. In fact you can use the newer bios knowing that the NB temp is wrong and not bothering about it. I would suggest that as there are some updates to the bios which could be useful. I have to reply to you on the other thing also, give me time till tomorrow cheers.
