Nice article, looks better on the site itself so can't post here...
Home-theater-in-a-box systems (HTIBs) are fine for those who value style and looks above all. But anyone who's a true aficionado of movies or music will want to step up to an A/V receiver. In addition to offering better sound quality, A/V receivers provide a full range of inputs and outputs, which allow you to switch from one audio and video source to another--DVD, cable or satellite, a video game system, and so forth--at the touch of a button. We've rounded up the cream of the 2005 receiver crop. Each model is distinguished by a unique feature--the Yamaha RX-V757's built-in support for XM Radio, or the Onkyo TX-NR1000's HDMI switching, for example. And at least two--the Pioneer VSX-1015TX and the Onkyo TX-SR503--offer a bevy of high-end features at very affordable prices. Pick one that suits your needs, add a full array of surround-sound speakers--and you'll be ready for some serious home-theater action.

Do check it out !

Actually, true aficionados would go for separates. :ohyeah:
Neways, they should have included Denon recievers as well.

ROFL we have a V757 here in the office brainstorming room :P. Didn't know it was that good :). Connected to a really crappy yamaha satellite and subwoofer set :|.

Do Logitech Z5500 THX 5.1 came within this ambit of top A/V receivers?,

for.....sure sake, aftr readin the DIGIT,CHIP & Online Reviews, who Deem as AUDIOPhile material..........I ordered one for Me!

It will be more of a HT Speaker system for my LIVING/front Room, rather than a PC-Centric speaker system!

Am I totally wrong in my choice
//Basically,made the choice after Hearing personally many other HI-FI 5.1 systems of TOP Brands,..(which didnot suit me)......also LUSTING after 505 Watts RMS &(particularly) the THX Rating as for their specs)
/// My Vendor asking 23 k for the Item!

Btw. The Pioneer VSX-1015TX ROCKS! Really good sound Quality!

generally i believe it refers to elitists of a certain product who *really* love the product

please remember www.dictionary.com is YOUR FRIEND

the logitech is good but klipsch produce the best PC speakers, certain creative speakers come in a very close second along with some logitech ones

Whoa ! The Logitech Z5500 are probably one the best PC speakers you can buy in India.

I'm not sure whether they will pair up well with an A/V amp, but connect them to a X-Fi Platinum, and your bringin' the neighbourhood down ;) !

Maybe, Choas, Eazy or Amol could throw more light on this...

They have a receiver/amplifier in them. No need to buy an A/V amp! Well according to Apollyon who's used the AL MX5021 and Logitech Z5500, the MX5021 has better audio quality. (Bottle told me apo sold off his Z5500)
