@strategy the mystery hp is...................................naaa..... i wanna see these guys reaction when they audition it in Jan. Its nothing big really, although they sound better than the d5000 in every way except the bass. I mean really, its not fair to compare a open back hp with a denon closed back. But the treble extension on theseeeeeeee..............and the soundstage, the detailing and neutrality. These were one of the 1st hps i tried when i came 2 SG 6mths back. I knew it was just a matter of time that i got these. I think i've mentioned my love for these in some other thread in this section. Anyways, enuf clues.

@brendon i think you mean RCA Male -> 3.5mm Female. I'm still curious as to how well they can drive the HD650, i mean they are one of the most difficult to drive HP's. Amp products use the HD650 as a benchmark for gods sake. Can't really wait to try your MS II.

Hope its better than my Sflo2/Macbookpro -> D5000 as compared to MS II -> D5k ;)

I cant wait for Jan to arrive ! This new year starts with a blast of audio nirvana for me :D New cans ! Dream IEMs ! and those who know about my new cans please keep shut .:P
 
I too can't wait for Jan to arrive, hopefully even before that. No headphones or customs though! Guess my portable rig will be complete and I won't need/want to spend for at least 6 months. Nothing significant compared to what others are getting though! (or... may be it is :devil2:)

@anubhav , you have loads of money stop selling stuff and get yourself an LCD2/HE6 ...you will like the LCD2 more though !:)

buy the burson HA160D to boot.

This LCD , gets on your ears and comes in a big wooden boxx !

Gives immense pleasure to your ears, whereas standard LCD's give pleasure to eyes :P

Dude if some1 would be giving these away for free then i'm sure the company wouldn't have enuf stock. and this is one brand i have never seen going on "Sale" or discount or black friday crap. I said no purchases but i made an exception for just these hps. They are so open that i can feel the air coming thru the back of the HP on a windy day. They are NOT portable though.
I just got them recabled to a 1/8" plug instead of the stock 1/4".

And guys, your always welcome to come down to mumbai to try some insane gear in Jan 1st week. I don't think the shops in Mumbai also have the kinda gear TE guyz have atm. Only thing we're short of is portable amps. Apart for nukey's pico slim, theres not much to audition.
Cue for the boys to start lookin into portable amps :P

Hay i have a very good portable amp called the HM602 !!beats the crap out of ibasso amps as per reviews ...( if some one can send me his ibasso (or any other amp ) i can testify !! )

lol, yeah they are very small i but i would not call them ergonomic !! :(
they can not be paired with ipod/sflo/ most DAPs ....the combo looks ugly
 
I have no idea what HP you are talking about though I am pretty sure its a Grado . :)

BUT I will be the first to try once you reach India !!!! :D

Btw I canceled my vacation plans so you can go ahead and drop off the headphones at my home the moment you reach Mumbai !!!! :ohyeah:

@Strategy - Dude, your HM602 has an output of 32 mW into 32 ohms while the new Ibasso P4 outputs 1000 mW into 32 ohms with specific OPAMPs and transistors.

Even my old P3+ can output 250 mW into 32 ohms.

We can make a switch. Ill send you the P3+ and you can send me the RE262s !!! :P

but i can find good discounts on ATs! , be it AD1000, or the CK 10 :(

it has to be a grado is it has no discounts!! i HAVE NEVER SEEN A DOSCOUNT ON any GRADOS AND HD800
 
I doubt its either the AD1000 or the HD800 as the HD800 needs an amp to shine and the AD1000 is no great HP. In fact Audio Technica like Denon are known for their closed HPs more than anything. AKG, Sennheiser, Grado and Beyerdynamic are the main guys who are known for their open cans.
