That is the general rule of PTs. Freeleech packs cannot be abused. The 72 hours of full seed can be spread out over ~3 weeks. (Make sure about this, cannot remember the overall grace period). Or you hit the 1:1 ratio and remove it. But why would anyone remove a FL pack anyways. That is the whole point, to keep FL packs healthy and available. Else instant ban.

I have one 35GB FL pack, and it sustains me constantly.

Since I have a great ratio at IPT . Some Freeleech packs are downloaded seeded for 3-4 hours . Since they are in rar format , I extract and remove them . :|

Unless you are able to give back 1:1 contention within your stipulated "3-4" hours. It is good.

Else:

That is hit-and-run. Which is bad. You are not giving back to the community. Pure leech.

That is not the point ! I have many torrents which are in ratio of 1 : 500 . There are freeleeches in which I am the only peer . Since I have the torrent ratio as desired how is the concept of hit and run arises is beyond me .

Freeleech programs and files are there to help people with ratio problems and also make rich content (mostly assorted thematic packages) available to the users. End of the day it is not always about what "ratio" one has, it is the underlying philosophy of how much someone is helping the community. If everyone behaved how you "might", regarding FL packs, they will cease to exist as available content and the .torrent descriptor file will just be a place holder...!

If you hit-and-run, then you are taking content via the tracker but not making it available back to users who would genuinely need it for ratio upgradation. With PTs one has to think back for the community and/or other users. Due to benevolence (uploader, ripper, seeder, and tracker) you were made something available, so it is mandatory and courteous to render back.

Freeleech helps in downloading for people who have poor ratio and once they download they can share so that there ratio improves . I was once in this problem and Freeleech was the reason I was able to recover my ratio .

The point I am trying to make is that , If we have no leechers and we have a great ratio then what is the point of seeding . ? The rules are ok but make no sense to me .

Well, that is the time frame they have kept at TD for FL packs. They assume that in 72 (or reaching 1:1) hours you give a fair chance for other people to hit your fully DL'ed FL pack and acquire it.

Guess cannot tell you more. Have told you enough, be careful on TD regarding FL.
 
AFAIK IPT and TD don't have a H&R script

as long as you maintain a 1.2+ ratio you can do whatever you like

but as soon as your ratio drops below 1, your account is demoted to "User" and there are Mods in place to check your torrenting records manually to check for H&Rs
 
Last i heard was that TorrentDay jacked up their peer numbers to bring up the activity. It was flashed in many forums. Hows the site doing now ? Could be a nice contender for TL with such large nos. of members.

Need to check the #sccrace chan for their pres... :/

Yea, it seems they have. The forum activity is not in correlation to the peer registered numbers. :)

Content is decent, well seeded.

By "jacked up", I meant the peer numbers was edited so that it showed much more than it actually is :P

After all, its romanian tracker.

Not at all. But 'all' the files have to be seeding in the individual torrent. NFO/SRT/jpeg and the core file. If .rar'ed, then all the pieces. Then only bonus points will be awarded.

24 H x 4 point/hour= 96 points. Provided 14 torrents are full seeding. You cannot get more than 4 / hour.
