videocon build quality is not that good , toshibha and sansui belongs to videocon family .

think before you buy .

I bought a videocon 32 lcd about 1.5yrs ago , now the tv hard buttons are dead [ power , volume ] , I would have used it for like 15-30 times .

the backside plastic small sheet coating near the cable connectors are peeled off , three buttons in the remote are dead .

Now luckily am out of warranty :@

I think I will buy this.

Please give a review about the picture and build quality. If its good will buy it .

It is not even a full hd tv. I guess there are better options available.
Had it been a full hd could have considered it as my PC monitor cum television.

uhmmm, its a good option for a tv & monitor at the price with much more real estate!

i am looking at a 24 inch monitor, was fixed on the benq g2420hd for 12k in kolkata

then checked out the samsung 23 inch tv - monitor px2370

then the lg came into the picture - M237WA/P

now this looks like a nice deal as well

my point is is full hd on a 24 inch monitor better than 720p on a 32 inch?

Saw an ad for an onida 32 inches full hd for 19,990. On the shopping channel star cj alive. Wont this be better than the non full hd :S

Toshiba ,sansui are owned by videocon.
On a side note had seen an ad for a sansui 32 inches full hd for 18,990 for your satisfaction with a jap :P
P S : i do respect japanese products but it is for companies like the earlier national now panasonic, sharp and hitachi. Hope you get my point.

Really?. Toshiba owned by videocon? U sure?

wasnt it some kinda tie up? That too before the toshiba india was started?

I think their assembly line up in india is owned by videocon.
That too is limited to televisions as far as i know.
Thats true. Production and marketing rights for Sansui, Akai and Aiwa (Not sure about Toshiba) in India are indeed held by Videocon.

I am not saying that its the best 32"...its not even close.
My deciding factor was the price. It is going to be used in guest room, with local cable, so no needfor HD there.
Will provide a review once I receive it.

Sorry to say, but i completely disagree..
Toshiba is an electronics giant with commendable R&D facilities in Japan (and few more countries). Its a global company, you just cannot compare it to Videocon, leave alone owning it.

Also, i think Videocon is just providing after sales support for Toshiba (don't know why, Videocon isn't good with after sales). I think Toshiba is now marketing on their own.

Secondly, as stated by another user, REGZA is an international series. I am not saying that this particular model will be of superior quality, but look at the price you are paying!
