PC Peripherals Transcend distributor shuts shop- RMA woes- FUD or fact??

Recently i had some people tell me that i shouldn't be buying Transcend RAM anymore in Mumbai.

The source/s mentioned that the Transcend distributor has wrapped up his business and disappeared or something like that. :S

So any replacement is at dealer discretion and also very dicey henceforth.
Can anyone and everyone please check this at their end?
Is this some rumour by some rival or by dealers to promote non-moving stocks of other brands or what?
Transcend DDR2 800 has been selling very well, especially the 2x2GB pairs as they are quite vfm and the powerchips ones OC well too.
But if true, i guess most will be better off avoiding stuff with dicey warranty coverage.
Thread be thrashed if proved FUD and/or violating any rules.

Or left after being locked to quell any similar worries/doubts/rumours. :cool2:

I would imagine the problem is real, I sent in a stick of DDR400 for warranty replacement in August which I haven't yet got back. To be fair it was in the week of its warranty, but the fact is it's been more than two months and I've yet to hear from Prime (who give me prompt service most of the time) on this particular piece, though I've already got a lot of other hardware replaced meanwhile.

theres a transcend distri in chennai called Luminous Technologies.

I've recieved the best service ever out there.

Guy took personal care of the problem.

and all transcend rams have a lifetime warranty..

Some Mumbai based distris r winding up. Here in Bangalore no issues with local distri , and Supertron. I guess Mediamen is winding up which is the biggest distri of Transcend in India and based In Mumbai

New disti's hardly ever honour warranties of the previous ones.

The current issue of the trade magazine has an ad from Mediaman where they again advertise Transcend products - GO FIGURE !!
