I use a Jigsaw too - got a Ryobi made in France for 4.5 k It cuts angles too and it has variable speed. I clamp down a straight piece of wood to anything on which I need a straight cut - this guides the Jigsaw quite well - does a pretty decent straight cut.

I use the Jigsaw mainly for cutting fan holes in cases and the BOSCH blade I use cuts thru the metal of the cases very fast - I get a Fan Hole cut in about 10 minutes. I first stick Masking Tape on the case panel and this avoids scratch marks on the paint.

Nothing beats a hole saw for cutting a CLEAN fan hole - the downside to hole saws is that you need a different size saw for different fan sizes and they cost a lot. The hole saws are attached to regular electric drills.

I used a wood hole saw to cut a hole on my computer table for the wires and it is SUPER CLEAN - a perfect circle.

Well at my workshop we use all the tools... The hole saw is good as Eazy pointed out... Putting table aroud the area as Eazy pointed out is the best bet for not spoiling the paint... To cut something in straight line you should mount the acralic with the help of some sort of guide and also remember acralic will get hot and melt so you have be pretty quick while cutting...

Here is a picture taken of 2 holes I made with the wood hole saw on my computer table. It makes nice clean holes.

@the_new_guy...........where do you get the acrylic sheets from ? I enquired at a local hardware store and the sheets were not of good quality.

2-2.5k for a jigsaw...hmmmmmmmmmmm, seems like modding the side panel will be an expensive affair:( :( :( :(

if u give it to a pro the expense will be way less

@eazy where did u get the masking tapes man, i asked the asian paint fellows for it and they said its not for sale :(

I buy my Masking tape from the Hardware Tools store which is located right next to Cassette World at Lamington Road - they have it in various widths - this is a regular shop dont go to the street vendors - this shop once had a LARGE roll of the silver DUCT tape which I picked up. The DUCT tape has solid holding strength - extreme Adhesiveness.
